Page 4: WHY ICCI ?

Where do we stand after 66 years of Independence ? Even after 66 years of Indian independence and

in spite of being more than 40 million, the community still remains one of the most economically challenged in the country

The Challenge How do we bring this huge chunk of population, of whom over 65% are under 30 years, into the economic mainstream of the national and global economy?

Page 5: WHY ICCI ?

Where do we stand today The per capita income of the shia community is

less than Muslim per capita income, which already lags behind the Indian per capita income

The Sachar Committee report There is very little representation in the public and corporate sector as well and even lower in top-level corporate jobs.

Page 6: WHY ICCI ?

What have we done for ourselves ?

“No attempt by the community to develop entrepreneurs, industries

and train skilled manpower making the community

prosperous and contributing towards national growth”.
