Failure to treat people fairly or equitably may be classed as discrimination. Anti-discrimination is about ensuring that everyone gets a fair go in life. The Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Old) promotes fair treatment and equality by making unfair discrimination unlawful. It is important because people will not be able to get job because of the gender or race because of discrimination which is not fair.
