Why?Following my flow of thoughts...Explaining every decision made...

The concept
Since this is another Technology subject, I was inspired to put some
work from D&T Textiles Technology to good use.
I’d already created a set of prints, so
adding to the collection by
designing for Print Master would
benefit two subjects.

From personal experience, as well as from family and friends, I knew
purple was the ultimate favourite for girls in their tween years
A vibrant fuchsia is fun and fashionable
!
Lavender is soft and girly, yet brings a crisp coolness as the last of winter drips away
Tangerine orange is like taking a peek at the sun as we slowly sink into the summer heat
I initiated the idea of a fashion-forward game for children because I am interested in the world’s forever changing trends. The fashion industry is one of the largest, and also plays one of the most vital roles in depicting people’s personality, status and confidence.
My partner, Katherine, went along with my idea and together, decided to (strive to) create a computerised dress-up game.

The name
Because of my initial craze for
prints and patterns, I
launched the idea of
revolving our dress-up game
around differing prints
for pieces of clothing.
Along with my partner, Katherine, we decided to give
our game a name that didn’t sound too cliché (i.e.
emphasising the stylishness of the game, e.g. Fashionistagirl, or
cheesy (by poorly using alliteration, rhymes or puns, e.g.
Polly Dolly )
We settled on Print because it sounded simple yet catchy; Master leads a very different story...
My brother calls me Master for reasons I’m unsure of, but I associate Master with fun times and some sort of older-sibling authority. I wanted each player of our game to feel in control of their choices of clothing and prints, thus decided that Master might be the most appropriate name! Master also has a majestic air about it.
Print Master generally has a singable diction, and is quite easy to remember.

Theme of learning journal: Pinboard
I wanted a very visual display for
my learning journal blog so
that I could easily navigate my way
around. With Pinboard, I can see
all my posts and progress without
having to scroll endlessly.
Out of chance, the default fonts that came with Pinboard are
contemporary and chic - perfect for my taste. This meant
that I wouldn’t need to worry about changing fonts per post in the future - something that takes up way too much time...
Pinboard allowed the user (me) to pick out a personal image to use as the background. I found this convenient because I have ever changing obsessions over background graphics, and sinceSeptember, I have had at least five different background images!

Background image
This is the final background image, which I will no longer change. It is actually an original design (hand-drawn and coloured, then scanned and manipulated on Keynote), one that I have incorporated in Print Master’s collection of prints.
I chose this amongst my array of prints because it had the
most sophistication and I favoured its mature palette. It also gives interest
without distracting the eye away from
the blog posts themselves.
