Sixteen-year-old Poppy has everything her unlimited credit cards can buy, and a spoiled attitude to match. After a final thoughtless prank, her exasperated father ships her off to boarding school in England. There, Poppy meets her match in a stern headmistress and a class full of girls who will not tolerate her selfishness.SynopsisAt the beginning of the movie Poppy is seen having a house party whilst her dad is away, her and her friends end up destroying all of her dads and her dads girlfriends belongings.Struggles at home are a common feature in many teen culture movies as teens are often represented and reckless and unruly and known for giving their parents a hard time. Struggles at Home

Taboo Language

A lot of taboo language is used throughout the movie by multiple characters. This is done to represent rebellion and makes the characters appear more relatable to other teenagers. In the movie Poppy falls in love with Freddie, the headmistresses son. This causes problems because the head girl also likes him, which causes conflict between them. Romance is a common feature in teen culture movies because it adds another layer of chaos to the story to show how complicated and overcrowded teens think their life is. Romance

Partying and alcohol is a main theme in Wild Child as it is the main reason why Poppy is sent to England, but is also a way she is able to bond with her new friends as they all become more comfortable around each other. This is a common theme in youth culture films as it shows the social and fun aspect of partying but at the same time shows potential dangers of alcohol as Poppy gets drunk. But it makes the situation seem normal and relatable to other teens watching, as its what they are also doing. Partying and Alcohol

The main source of rivalry is between Poppy who is American and Harriet who is British, their cultural differences create tension as they both have stereotypes of each other. Their rivalry is mainly over power within their private school and over who gains Freddies attention. This feature is used in the majority of youth culture films, to provide a sense of comedy, but to also show conflict but from both sides of the argument as different audiences will agree and side with a specific group or character.
