WILLIAM BURT LAUDERDALE

William Burt Lauderdale is professor of education at Auburn University, Alabama. He received his B.A. in music education and Ed.M. in social foundations of education from the University of 11- linois. After teaching middle school, he earned his Ph.D. in history and philosophy of education at Michigan State University.

Lauderdale's research interests focus on educational policy studies within a historical context. His articles have appeared in such jour- nals as Phi Delta Kappan, Educational Forum, Educational Studies, Theory Into Practice, and Journal of Teacher Education. He is the author of the Diamond Jubilee Series fastback 166 Progressive Edu- cation: Lessons from Three Schools.
