COMPETITION SPONSORSIn the past, competitions have been sponsored by law rms throughout the state of Wyoming. e sponsorship not only provides name recognition for the rm, but allows student teams to compete at the regional level around the country. e sponsorship defrays the cost of travel and in some cases allows for more than one team to represent the College of Law.

To allow more rms to participate in this naming opportunity, the College of Law has created three year pledge agreements to represent the student competition of its choice.

If your rm is interested in sponsoring a student competition for a three year pledge, or is interested in continuing sponsorship, please contact Dean Steve Easton at [email protected] at the UW College of Law or Tracy Richardson (B.S. ’98, J.D. ’02) at [email protected] at the UW Foundation.

CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE e University of Wyoming College of Law participated in President Obama’s Champions of Change event on October 13, 2011. e event was a national, on-line conversation with Attorney General Eric Holder and other law schools and faculty from around the nation. e College of Law participated by hosting an in-house event where students, faculty, and members of the community could watch a live-streaming video of Attorney General Holder and others in the White House calling on students to increase their pro bono e orts.

Representatives from each of the College of Law’s outstanding clinics were present to submit questions to Attorney General Holder and listen to other advocates for legal services programs.

e College of Law was included on the White House Champions of Change website highlighting the public service that our legal clinics provide.

e event was a great opportunity to highlight the amazing pro bono work that is done by law students for the state of Wyoming, and to inspire students to think of new ways to use their law degrees for public service.
