From Innovation to Production: Bioenergy Technologies

From idea to fruition, developing renewable energy technologies and projects requires a diverse set of players. Project timing and coordination is imperative to identifying technologies with potential for commercialization. Sessions in this track will review emerging and available technologies, project de-risking and development, and financing considerations involved in realizing successful bioenergy projects.

Biogas: Wisconsin’s Opportunity Fuel

Biogas from organic matter like manure, crops or food waste is a natural extension of Wisconsin’s showcase dairy sector and thriving food processing industry. Biogas energy can be created from waste streams throughout the Midwest. Sessions in this track will review a strategic plan to bring more biogas to Wisconsin and discuss opportunities to develop more systems on farms, in communities and at food processing facilities statewide.

What it Takes to Create Sustainable Bioenergy Systems in the Midwest

Wisconsin and the Midwest can lead the transition from finite fossil fuels to a new energy economy by harnessing biomass for renewable energy production. In order to ensure longevity and reliability, the next generation of fuel sources must be both economically and environmentally sustainable. Sessions in this track will cover topics like biomass supply, sustainable harvesting, measuring sustainability and a project case study.
