PROGRAMSummer Day Camp is a fun filled fasi pacedrecreation program that assists working militaryand DoD civilian parents with full-day schoolage care during the school summer breakperiod. Fees include a daily breakfast, lunchand afternoon snack, entry fees, field triptransportation, program supplies and covers a

staff to child ratio of 1-15 (1-12for childrenentering the 1st grade). Activities includeswimming, arts & crafts, team sports, outsideplay, computer lab, field trips, special interestclubs and many special events.

REGISTRATION

Registration for the Day Camp Program beginsMay 2 al the Schofield Barracks, AMR, FortShafter and HMR school-age programfacilities. Parents may enroll their children in

one or more day camp weekly sessions byvisiting the school-age program nearest themand filling out the proper forms. Parents newto CYSS must register at Parent CentralServices (PCS). PCS offices are located atSchofield Barracks, building 1283, call655-8380i5314 and at AMR, building 1782, call833-5393. Full session fees will be due notlater than five working days before the sessionactually begins. Late fees will be charged ifthe entire session fee has not been paid for bythe first day of the program. Space is limitedat all program sites so register early.

Certified through the American Red Cross, thisprogram prepares children ages 11-14 to learnwhat Lifeguards'duties are and to start themon a journey for a possible career in watersafety. Upon graduation students will bequalified as a Jr. Lifeguard and will be able iovolunteer here at Richardson Pool under directsupervision of our full time staff,

Children must be able to swim proficiently inthe deep end of the pool.

The AMR Teen Center, will be offering a 6 week themed summer camp Monday through Friday fromJune 6th- July 22th. The camp time is 10-6pm. The summer program includes other military MWRPrograms such as the swimming pool, bowling center, gym and community center. Teens will need toprovide a sack lunch daily and sign a waiver form for camp. Register at the AMR CYSS RegistrationOffice located in the AMR School Age Center. Fees are based on total family lncome. Registration forsummer camp will begin on f,liay 2,2011 . Limited spaces are available. Applicant must also beregistered with the CYSS Middle School and Teen (MST) Program, if not currently a member. Teensmust have completed the 6th grade through 12th grade to be eligible for the summer program.

The teen center provides a fun and safe place for teens to gather and socialize. The teen centerprovides a variety of clubs and activities. Clubs include: 4H Cooking, Photography, Gardening, andCommunity Club, special interest clubs such as DJ and Dance Club as well as the Boys & Girls Clubs.The center offers employment and career assistance, leadership and life skills classes. The center isequipped with computers with internet service, color printers, video and board games and othereducational materials. See monthly calendar for more information about days and times of field trips,clubs, activities, community service projects, etc. Calendars are located in the teen center, registrationoffice or online at www.mwrarmyhawaii.com. Leadership OpportunitiesYouth SponsorshipThe Youth Sponsorship Program helps teens deal with the stress of moving by providing 7th-1 2th gradewith a teen friend. Teen sponsors provide information and support to the incoming teen to Hawaii.lnterested teens can assist in planning Hail and Farewells, socials, dances, trips, assembling welcomepackets and creaiing a web page, Look for upcoming Aloha events in the July Teen activity calendar.Keystone Club (grades 9-12) & Torch Club (grades 7-8)A teen leadership program, which get teens involved in the planning of special events and providing inputto the center. Keystone and Torch club members have the opportunity to participate in the YouthLeadership Forum (teen ages 14-19), Army Conferences, and camps. High School teen members alsohave the opportunity to represent their installation as the Pacific Teen Panel (PTP) member and AlternatePacific Teen Panel member.

Weekly & Weekend Apprenticeship Program provides 15-18 year-old youth withmeaningfully, professionally-managed career-exploration opportunities in Family andMorale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) operations at the Bowling Centers, PhysicalFitness Centers, Food and Beverage Operations, Golf Courses, Youth Sports,School Age Centers, Arts and Crafts Centers and many more. The HIRED! Weekly &Weekend Apprenticeship Program offers valuable paid work experience and trainingto better equip each participant with the skills needed for a highly-competitive jobmarket.
