Women’s Bible Study The book we will be using is “One In A Million” by Priscilla Shirer. The premise of this book is based off of Exodus Chapter 1. God invited the Is- realite people to enter the Promised Land, after they had been enslaved and worn down by the Egyptians. Of the original two million Israelites who received the invitation from God, only two actually entered it! This book asks us to be like one of the rare few who entered the Promised Land. Choir Resumes Choir practice will begin this Sunday, Sept. 7th, at 4:45pm. New members are always welcome! If you are interested in joining the choir and are unsure, come anyway! We would love to have you! If you have any questions please see Terry Alexnder.

Heaven Is For Real On Sunday, Sept. 7th, at 6pm we will be show- ing the movie “Heaven Is For Real.” This mov- ie is based on a true story. At the age of four Colton Burpo has to have emergency surgery and during his surgery he enters heaven. His family doesn’t believe him, but more revealing evidencnce is undeniable. Colton describes the details of meeting his great grandfather who died 30 years before he was born. He also shares that he met his miscarried sister whom he did not know about. Bring your friends & family!

New Adult Sunday School Discipleship Classes We encourage you to prayerfully search for the one that speaks to your heart and join us! We look forward to seeing you at 9:30am Sundays as we grow together in God’s Word. “Our Heritage” This Holiness class follows our Doctrinal Beliefs with material from our Nazarene Publishing House. This quarters study is divided into four discussion sectons: Engage Interest, Examine Life, Explore the World, and Exercise Faith.

“Life Lessons: Ezra & Nehemiah” by Max Lucado This book has twelve lessons from the Old Testament about two leaders, Ezra and Nehemiah. They were instrumental in restoring Israel’s temple and Israel’s worship in the days of Babylon.

“All In” Mark Batterson The Gospel demands that we go “all in” which means we place everything we have into God’s hands. Batterson writes, for many years I thought I was following Jesus. I wasn’t. I had invited Jesus to follow me. I call it inverted Christianity. When did we start believing that the gospel is an insurance plan? It’s a daring plan. Jesus did not die just to keep us safe. He died to make us dangerous. “Life Lessons: Romans” by Max Lucado The Book of Romans takes us on a journey with Paul, as he explores the wrong paths people can take in life. Paul points us to the only right path: Jesus Christ! Romans can be a life-changing lett- er, but you have to be willing to admit you have sinned. Each lesson contains: scripture reading, inspirational reading, questions to answer, space for journaling, and a prayer.

“Connecting 101” All your questions will be answered! This class is led by Pastor Tim and you will receive answers about the following topics: our heritage, doctrinal beliefs, and the vision for our local church. * Please Note: This class is required for full membership at GCN.

We have started practice for our Christmas program. We are practicing on Sunday mornings during Children’s church. Please bring your kids so they can get as much practice as possible. We will have several different elements to our program this year.

The children’s council is selling Papa Murphy’s fundraiser cards. They are $10.00 each. Please see a council member (Rod Willis, Choiseul Orebaugh, Pam Bunce, Dallas Crist, Jessica Wadel, and Courtney Main) for your card. Support your children’s dept.!

Fall festival is just around the corner. We will have games, food, and candy!!! Lots and lots of candy!!! We will also have trunk or treat in the parking lot after the festivities. Stay tuned for more details.

Hey GCN Family! NYC (Nazarene Youth Conference) planning is under way. Eleven students have expressed interest in going and more are welcome to join. Important dates and deposits to remember are: $200 by Sept. 20th & $300 more by Nov. 20th. The cost rises after Nov. 20th. Attention: parents & students: there have been several people that have contacted me looking for students to help with things (i.e. moving, pulling weeds, shoveling snow, etc.) and would pay a little for your services. The individuals offering these jobs are providing an opportunity for excellent, easy fundraising. This is a way for you to save money for this trip now! Talk to Jamie if you have any questions or would like to sign-up.

Last Sunday we began our small groups. The next time small groups will meet is Sunday, Sept. 14th, at 6pm. On Sunday, Sept. 7th, at 7pm is Teen Time at the Hogan’s. If students need a ride one will be provided from the church to the homes. However, we do ask that parents pick up their stu- dents from the homes. Other arrangements can be made, if necessary. Talk with Jamie if you have any questions.

So, in- vite your friends to come along. Also, this night is the kick-off of the quizzing year. This is a quiz retreat! Other youth groups will be here to participate in the fun!

Club 52 Members Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers and support! We are so thankful for you all! Our newsletter will be mailed at the end of the week. We are excited for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) to be starting at the high school Wed. Sept. 3rd and also are excited about the College Campus Ministry at GCCC “Sold Out” beginning soon! Please be in prayer about both of these groups and that the Lord directs the individuals leading and participating. Thank you again for what you do! College & Career - The Circle- Young Adults This Wednesday at 7pm we will be meeting upstairs in the TV room in the hallway to discuss the work of the people video series “Recovery & Spirituality- Spiritual Practices for Resurrection.” Come join the group and participate in this journey we are all on together of understanding better how to be resurrection people. People who live and breath the resurrection life of Jesus into the world around us. I pray you seriously contemplate attending. Thank you!

Enchilada Fundraiser The annual Jazzy Nazzy Enchilada Sale has begun. There is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center, if you would like to purchase enchiladas be sure to sign- up no later than Sunday, Sept. 14th. The enchila- das will be available to pick up on Fri., Sept. 19th and Sat., Sept 20th. They are $17.00 a dozen.

Creative Sisters Craft Night Our next craft night is Friday, Sept. 19th. We meet at 6pm, but will not start the class until 7pm.The class we will be doing is DIY dry erase calendars. All that is needed to make these calendars is FREE paint chips from the hardware store and a cheap picture frame. All the supplies will be provided for you, all you have to is bring yourself and your money. The cost of this project has not been decided yet, but we will have a to-tal for you by next week. There will aslo be another sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center. Please sing-up if you plan to be there. We need to know how many supplies to purchase.

Comfort Givers New members are welcome! If you quilt, knit or crochet come join us in making shawls, lap afghans, and throws for those who may need a boost in spirits. If you do not know how to do any of the above and would like to learn, one of our wonderful ladies would love to teach you! We resume our meetings on Monday, Sept. 8th, at 7pm.
