Introduction

This brochure gives details of our services from 2018.

It lists coffins, professional fees, removal, delivery and other charges usually associated with a funeral.

We have tried to list as many things to give an accurate price as far as is possible.

Because each person and members of each family have individual requirements, amounts may vary. It is our policy to indicate how much a funeral will cost before the ceremony takes place.

Many of the coffins shown have several variations, and although we try to illustrate

the ones most usually chosen, we can produce almost any practicable design or colour variation.

The prices and charges shown do not include disbursements. These fees: Cemetery,

Crematorium, Doctors, Newspapers, Printers, Church, Clergy and other external charges are payable at the time of the funeral, but for your convenience, we are pleased to disburse these on your behalf and itemise them on our account, for payment with our fees.

Wherever VAT occurs in any of the charges, it is included but is not added because

VAT is not charged on Funerals.

We believe our products and services are produced and carried out to the highest

possible standards.

We use a heavy, purple, Belgian velvet handmade pall to cover the coffin at the time of the funeral, on most occasions. Other colours are also available, including white and black. We believe that this gives a softer and more “finished” appearance to family and other mourners alike. This is traditional, but by no means a requirement, if you wish that the coffin is not covered then simply mention this to us.

The Blue Rise Stainless Steel Finest Quality Casket

(Suitable for Burial)

The Casket

The cost includes a silver stainless steel casket in a luminous blue brush. The casket is fitted with superior bold bar handles and supports and are integral to the design. The rectangular casket is made to the highest specification. The casket has deep contoured base moulding and the Vaulted Lid is stayed and hinged in two parts. The Interior and Lid are padded throughout and upholstered in fine sky blue Velvet with matching Pillow and separate mattress.

We provide a custom made coverboard to protect the casket in the ground.

It also includes for all of our charges for the removal of deceased from an address in Sheffield at any time, for the preparation of the body, short term preservative measures including embalming if required, washing, shaving, arranging the deceased in the casket and, if clothing is provided, dressing the deceased in their own clothes. The figure also includes the use of mortuary facilities and a Private Chapel of Rest for up to two weeks where the deceased can be seen by relatives and friends at our premises with appropriate attendants. These costs include a hearse, two limousines, six uniformed bearers, a professional funeral director in attendance to deal with mourners, administer the funeral and provide guidance and control during the ceremony and a car for the bearers. Travelling from our premises to an address in Sheffield, a local place of worship, for up to two hours if required, proceeding to a local Cemetery and returning as directed.

Dealing with any flowers that may arrive, removing plastic wrapping and delivery bags as appropriate and listing if applicable. Attending on and looking after relatives and friends throughout.

These fees include for attending at our premises to make all the necessary arrangements and making them available for the reception and return of mourners before and after the funeral. Liaising with the cemetery, clergy, coroner’s office, church, verger, organist and medical staff. Making arrangements for a simple printed order of service, if required, (does not include printers’ charge). Giving professional advice on all the legal and practical aspects required following a death to facilitate the smooth running of the funeral. Guidance on the registration of the death. Drafting newspaper advertisements, contacting florists, caterers, monumental masons, gravediggers etc..

Having available and completing the necessary, statutory and other documentation and delivery to the relevant authorities. Providing a written estimate of costs and confirmation of the arrangements. Being available 24 hours a day, every day, to deal with all enquiries regarding the funeral. Receiving, handling, acknowledging and forwarding of charitable donations where applicable. DWP Funerals

The DWP funeral a contribution towards a simple package of the necessary items within a funeral that the DWP should pay for, if the applicant qualifies for a claim. If you receive one of the following benefits then you may be eligible for a claim from the Social Fund, subject to a decision by your local DWP office: INCOME SUPPORT, UNIVERSAL CREDIT, JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE - Income based, HOUSING BENEFIT, COUNCIL TAX BENEFIT, PENSION CREDIT, WORKING TAX CREDIT where a disabled worker is included in the assessment, CHILD TAX CREDIT at a higher rate than the family element. The council tax payer where you live gets a Second Adult Rebate because you are on Income Support, income-based jobseeker’s Allowance or have a low income. Please refer to and complete form SF200 whilst referring to the notes sheet for more detailed and recent guidance on your claim. The DWP may also pay for the Crematorium Charge, the Grave Fees or the Doctors fees for cremation certificates.

Please note that any services provided above the normal DWP payment should be settled at the time of placing the order, and if the claim is unsuccessful, then the balance is due within 30 days of the date of the invoice. DWP Contribution: £700:00

ECONOMY FUNERAL The Coffin - The cost includes a very simple foil Coffin, mounted with two pairs of

handles as shown made from combustible materials for cremation and engraved inscription tablet. Lined with plastic sheeting that conforms to EC emissions regulations. It also includes for all of our charges for a vehicle and up to two staff to effect the removal of deceased from an address in Sheffield during normal office hours. Children’s Funerals

Selected Funerals are available with appropriate variation:

Children under 5 years - Half price shown + disbursements

Children under 14 years - Two thirds price shown + disbursements

Additional services if required are supplied at the same price for adults.

Minimum Basic Funeral for Stillborn Child

This funeral is available for a child who is stillborn or whose age at death did not exceed 28 days, and is dealt with in the simplest possible manner.

Our charge inclusive of :-

A basic wooden coffin. Removal of the child from the Hospital mortuary and delivery to the cemetery. The interment takes place in a special baby grave at a designated Cemetery. In order to keep costs to a minimum, a convenient time is made for the interment and a very simple ceremony is arranged.

No Charge (disbursements only)

BASIC FUNERAL The Basic Funeral (as specified by the NAFD/DGFT) includes a) provision of funeral

director b) attending to necessary arrangements c) provision of necessary staff d) provision of coffin for cremation only e) transfer of deceased from place of death (ten running miles) in normal working hours f) storage of remains g) provision of hearse to the nearest crematorium h) burial may be specified as opposed to cremation where this is locally available at additional charge.
