Sponsorship Overview

Cornwall’s largest outdoor skate park Wooden Waves has reopened thanks to social enterprise Xtravert and Newquay Town Council.

XtraVert is a social enterprise venture that helps young people carve out new careers in the carpentry industry. With a focus on craftsmanship and a skate sensibility, XtraVert relate directly to young people, bridging the gap between formal education and the carpentry industry. Their work ranges from building skate ramps, crafting alaia surfboards and they are now on site at Wooden Waves everyday working on ongoing refurbishment.

In the past the park has played host to big events like the Vans Street Skate Competition, and this summer is set with a DC competition already confirmed and an end of summer blow out in the pipeline.

We are looking for companies who would be interested in supporting this social enterprise initiative.

So we’ve all sponsored a goat or two in our time but how about something a little closer to your brand’s heart - your very own skateramp?

XtraVert is on a mission to fully refurbish and reskin each and every ramp in Wooden Waves - leaving no ramp behind!

If you’d love to have your brand seen every day by skaters, BMXers and scooter kids but have sadly blown most of your marketing budget on marshmallows and dancing girls - the Wall of Fame might be a great fit for your brand.

For the sum of just £100 you can provide a skate deck emblazoned with your logo/artwork/aspirational message to be fixed to our permanent Wall of Fame inside Wooden Waves. Alternatively the Xtravert crew can create a wooden blank and do cool stuff to it which will include your logo.

There are a number of different ways that you can get involved with the work XtraVert is doing at Wooden Waves here are just a few ideas:

• Pop-up shop pitch at event (POA)• Provide competition prizes for events and/or social media activity• Kit out the XtraVert team (on site every day) with your brand’s clothing • Rental equipment sponsor (to supply deck setups, helmets and pads)• Donate a rider for the day to teach a master class• Provide action sports artists, filmmakers or photographers to host workshops• Food and drink sponsorship for events• Provide tech kit such as cameras and video cameras to capture comp action
