College of Communication. An interactive session about how data visualisation requires a change from the usual ways of working/thinking.
1. Group examples of representing small to big data using infographics that get more and more complicated from pies to treemaps to combinations of both, i.e. a stacked bar chart with heat maps combined 2. 15 min exercise - in smaller groups of 4-5, using A3 sheets on making infographic choices 3. Critique / evaluation on their choices of infographics

A GDS data scientist working through a data science project – webscraping data from site WhatDoTheyKnow and analysing the results to show some of the lower level detail of a project so attendees can get an idea of what code looks like and perhaps understand the process a bit better.
