Workshop On Industrial Engineering for National Development Organized by School of Mechanical Sciences IIT Bhubaneswar during 5-6 th April 2014 A two day workshop on Industrial Engineering for National Development was organized by the School of Mechanical Sciences of IIT Bhubaneswar. The workshop was coordinated by Professor Sadananda Sahu and Dr. Akhilesh Barve. Over forty participants consisting of industry executives, academicians, research scholars and student from all over the India participated in the workshop. There were eight technical sessions. The resource person comprised of four academicians and four top executives from industry. The workshop provided the unique opportunity of meaningful interaction between participants, resource persons and IIT Bhubaneswar faculty. Professor K. C. Sahu, Eminent Academician and former Professor and Dean of IIT Kharagpur was the chief guest for the workshop. M/s. Udyan Fresh and M/s. IMFA were sponsors for the workshop. The topics covered in the various sessions included: 1. Industrial Engineering in India. 2. TQM and Six-Sigma in Indian Industries. 3. Analytical Techniques in Industrial Engineering. 4. Logistics Management. 5. IT and Industrial Engineering. 6. Journey of Excellence: Toyota Way. 7. Supply Chain of Fruits and Vegetables. 8. Manufacturing Scenario in India.
