• Acquire the essentials of scientific writing (style, organisation, structure) & editing skills.

• Know the types of journals that can be targeted easily & tips on publishing in high impact journals.

• Win the reviewer & the editor’s hearts.

• Learn how to write a review article.

• Increase researcher’s citations, H-index & KPI easily.

• Write papers with confidence when return to workplaces with strong research motivation.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE PRESENTER

PROFESSOR DR. GAN SIEW HUA

Prof. Gan received a BSc

from Manchester University,

England, Masters in Clinical

Pharmacy and a PhD in

pharmacology from USM.

She has vast experience in

scientific writing, publishing

more than 200 international

ISI-indexed journals.

She is on the editorial board of many

international journals including Plos One, Evidence

Based Complementary Medicine (Lead Guest Editor

& editorial board member), World Journal of Medical

Genetics and Electronic Physician Journal (Regional

Editor: South East Asian Region).

She has won numerous awards including the

“Top Reviewer of the Year Award” from Elsevier, the

most cited paper for Journal of Food Science,

Anugerah Sanggar Sanjung (for publication) and

Quality Publication Awards (individual category) for

many consecutive years in USM. She has also been

nominated for Anugerah Akademik Negara (journal

publication category). With her vast experience, she

speaks from the author, reviewer and editor’s

perspectives.

Prof. Gan is a dynamic speaker & connects

well with the audience. She has been conducting

scientific writing workshops to both postgraduates

and lecturers from USM since 2005. She has also

been regularly invited by the Malaysia Nuclear

Agency and has trained staff from FRIM & IMR on

the proper techniques of scientific writing for several

years. To date, she has motivated many lecturers

and students in their career paths as evidenced by

the many repeat participants to her workshop.

3. Cancellation / Substitution A full refund less administration cost of 20% from paid fee will be given for cancellation received not later than 10 working days before the event. No refund will be made after this period.
