SHINYA HIROSHIBA(M.D.)

The chairman of HIROSHIBA ENT Clinic/Isshiki Memorial Voice Center. He graduated from Kyoto University in 1994. He founded Isshiki Memorial Voice Center on 2011.He devotes quality service to his patients. This explains why patients from all over Japan, and even from out of the country, regularly come to his center. He is fortunate to be continuously guided by great men in the field like Dr Isshiki and Dr Tanabe, just to name two. He passionately learns from these mentors; and from his most important teachers which are his own patients. He also finds time to teach young ENT doctors, sharing with them his own life's lessons and learnings in private practice.

MASAHIRO TANABE(M.D./Ph.D.) Dr. Tanabe is one of the leading phonosurgeons in Japan and East Asia. He is an emeritus board member of East Asian Conference of Phonosurgery.He graduated from Kyoto University School of Medicine in 1966. Since then, he has continuously practiced the field of ENT-HNS, both medical and surgical. He has been a co-researcher and an active contributor to the works of Professor Nobuhiko Isshiki, who is the pioneer of the various types of Thyroplasty. Presently, at the age of seventy six, he is still very much active in performing thyroplasties and passionately teaching young ENT doctors about this surgery.

Dr. Paul Castellanos is an ENT-otolaryngologist in Birmingham, Alabama and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He is one of 4 doctors at Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and one of 8 at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham who specialize in Otolaryngology.

Mr. Vasant Oswal is an Emeritus Consultant Otolaryngologist at the James Cook University Hospital, Middleborough in Cleveland, England. He was appointed Consultant Otolaryngologist H&N Surgeon to the ENT department at The North Riding Infirmary, in North Yorkshire in England in 1969. From its fledgling state of the department in the seventies, Vasant Oswal, with his late colleagues Martin Horowitz and Frank Fleming and the current staff, developed the ENT department which was at the North Riding Infirmary until it moved to the present site at the James Cook University Hospital in 2002. The department currently has seven ENT consultants, an academic lecturer, three staff grade doctors and several UK and overseas trainee grades including secondments.

Mr Sandhu graduated in medicine from the University of London in 1990 and following training in General Surgery, he chose to specialise in Otalaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery). His training was in all aspects of paediatric and adult ENT conditions through the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear and Great Ormond Street Hospitals. Mr Sandhu has passed the Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in both General Surgery and ENT. Mr Sandhu has published over one hundred research papers, book chapters and consensus documents. His research has lead to a Doctorate of Medicine (MD). He is one of the world's leading experts on conditions related to throat especially the repair of damaged airways and larynges. Mr Sandhu is frequently invited to lecture Nationally and Internationally on ENT related topics. His pioneering work in new surgical techniques has lead to him being awarded Corresponding Fellowship to the American Laryngological Associations.

Dr David Lau is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. His main subspecialty interests are in nasal allergies and sinus disorders. He has over 18 years in the speciality, having worked in the UK, Canada and Singapore. Dr Lau has a substantial body of local and international experience, on-going academic and scientific work. He received his early surgical training in the United Kingdom, working in hospitals such as St Mary’s Hospital in London, the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, and the prestigious Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He received his Fellowship in Otolaryngology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1996.

Dinesh C. Mehta, MD is a practicing Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT Specialist) in Bronx, NY. Dr. Mehta graduated from Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in 1960 and has been in practice for 56 years. He completed a residency at St Thomas Hospital. He currently practices at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center and is affiliated with Montefiore Medical Center and Northern Westchester Hospital Northwell Health. DR. JAMES P THOMAS

Dr. Thomas' special area of interest is voice disorders, including singing, speaking, breathing, and swallowing. Dr. Thomas’ qualifications for the laryngeal or voice subspecialty of ear, nose, and throat surgery (otolaryngology), include a passionate interest in voice disorders, as well as extensive study including and beyond a six year residency training program in otolaryngology. Dr. Thomas has traveled widely, studying under numerous other laryngologists (otolaryngologists who specialize in throat disorders) in the United States, Canada, and in Europe. In addition, Dr. Thomas completed a concentrated fellowship at Loyola University in Chicago studying under Robert Bastian, M.D.
