Dear Venturers of Area 4 and Beyond;

Let me be the first to welcome you to Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, home of the Summer Camp Operations of Buckeye Council. We are excited to host each of you for what looks to be an exciting weekend of outdoor activity and adventure.

Seven Ranges first hosted Scouts in 1987 and since has been a place many look forward to coming back to each year for an unforgettable outdoor adventure. We take great pride in Buckeye Council with this property. 7R, as we like to call it, is nearly 900 acres of wilderness and developed property, we boost an 1,100 seat dining hall, Leadership Village with indoor housing for 96,

numerous hiking trails, Shooting Sports facility (Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol), a 56+ acre lake with fishing and other waterfront activities, and many more program areas.

We hope you enjoy your time here with us and hope to see you back soon!

Yours in Scouting;

David P. Truax Scout Executive, Buckeye Council BSA Inc.

Message from the Scout Exec

When you arrive at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, your Crew President and Advisor, Ship Boatswain and Skipper, or Contingent Advisors and Youth Leader should go to the Administration building to check in.

You will need 2 copies of your roster, a copy of your paid receipt, BSA Medical Forms for all members of your contingent (including staff), and any special needs in writing. You will receive your Lodging Assignments, Wristbands (which need to be worn all weekend), Ammo Chits, WorldFest2015 Necker and Patch, and a

schedule of activities.

You need BSA Class A & B Annual Medical Records completed. This does not require a doctors signature, just some medical information for safety. Here is a link to the BSA Annual Medical Record form: www.tinyurl.com/WorldFestMedical

When you check in at WorldFest2015, you will need to have a BSA medical form to give to the

Risk Management Chair at check in. Crews will need to turn in a copy of their medical forms and they should keep an additional copy with a Crew Advisor for all participants. If you are on staff, you too need to bring your medical form and file it with the Risk Management Chair when you

check in. There will be at least 2 RNs at WorldFest all weekend for any medical issues that

arise. Medical forms will be returned to the Crew Advisor at check out.

Q: What are my options for lodging?

A: WorldFest has a couple of different lodging options. If you were

one of the first participants to register, you have been notified that you will have housing in a cabin for the weekend. If you do not have a

tent, WorldFest will provide you with a canvas tent on a platform with

cots for the weekend. If you want to use your own tent, feel free to bring it!

Q: My best friend heard about WorldFest, can he/ she still

register?

A: Registration closes on April 3rd. After April 3rd, we will not be able to accept any more participants because all materials for the weekend will have already been ordered.

Q: What is the uniform for the weekend?

A: Since this is Venturing, there is no “official” uniform, so you will not be denied access to the dining hall if you are not wearing the spruce green uniform shirt. Our “Group Identity” for the weekend will be the

WorldFest necker, and we encourage everyone to wear it the entire

weekend, either with the official uniform, your Crew’s uniform, or any Venturing shirt. If you want new Venturing apparel, check out the Central Region Venturing Store: www.tinyurl.com/CRVstore.

Q: What food is provided to participants?

A: Amazing food will be served the entire weekend. There will be a Cracker Barrel on Friday night, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks on Saturday, and Breakfast on Sunday.

Q: What are the new sleeping guidelines with the Membership

Age Changes?

A: There will be 4 sleeping categories. Participants will be divided based on Gender, and then again based on Age. Here are the groups:

Male 13-17 Female 13-17

Male 18+ Female 18+

Q: How many Venturers will be attending WorldFest?

A: We are expecting over 300 Venturers to come to 7 Ranges for an amazing weekend of Venturing fun!
