Task 8.3 COOPEUS strategic plan for long-term EU-US

collaboration on interoperability and interworkability

Participants: FMI, All COOPEUS partners

Aim: Task 8.3 will formulate a long-term strategic plan and a roadmap for the next 10 year

Content: clear joint objectives and goals, a roadmap with optional pathways, working principles and defined institutional frameworks on transatlantic cooperation will be outlined

Activities: A set of ws to collect input on the first draft of the COOPEUS strategic plan and roadmap

Aim: enhance coordination to support the establishment of a global Earth system observation structure

Content: COOPEUS is a context for EU and US env. RIs to act as a unified contributor to the global Earth system initiatives (GEOSS and GEO, ICSU, GMES..)

Activities: will seek best solutions and mechanisms to assist the development of the global Earth system observation initiatives + will promote the use of e-infrastructure tools and the results of the best practices identified in the project

Deliverable: D8.5 white paper on on EU-US Environment RI contribution to global context (GEOSS, GEO) (M36)
