Note: You need a PayPal business or premier account to use PayPal PDT (upgrading from a personal PayPal account is free). Step 1) Log into your PayPal account. Step 2) Go to My Account -> Profile Step 3) Click on selling tools link. Step 4) Check the selling online section. Step 5) Look for "Website Preferences" and click the "Update" link on the far right hand corner of this row. The following image shows you where to click in your PayPal account to get to the Website Preferences menu: http://images.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forum-images/instruction/getting-paypal-pdt-token-id.png Step 6) You are now on the "Website Preferences" menu. a) Turn on the "Auto Return" for Website Payments b) Enter a URL in the Return URL field (your thank you page URL) c) Scroll down to Payment Data Transfer and enable it. d) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button e) PayPal will give a success message and show you your PDT ID Token f) Copy the paypal PDT ID token and use it where you need to specify it.

Non-Developers

Non-Developers can use our API to retrieve the Lis t IDs in their accounts . The information retrieved includes the Lis t Name and Lis t ID. Follow these s teps to use our IO Docs to make the API call:

1. Go to our Developer portal and follow the 3 s teps under "Reques t an API Key". Note: API keys are usually used by an application that accesses data in another program. So pretend you're registering an application to get your key. Make-up an application name and provide a redirect URL. It's important to use the correct format for the "redirect URL" so feel free to use http://www.example.com. All other fields on the application registration page can be left blank.

2. Leave the default settings in the Web APIs section.

3. Accept the terms of service and click Register Application.

4. The Application Registered page displays. Click the Get an access token.

5. Click the "API here" link.

6. Your API key has been populated in the App/Key field. Click Get Access Token.

7. Click I already have an account on the Create a new account page.

8. If requested, log in to your Constant Contact account.

9. Click Grant Access.

10. Your access token is displayed. Copy the token and save it somewhere (like in a .TXT file) if you need it again at some time.

11. Click Done.

12. The IO Docs page appears. Your API key is shown in the App/Key field. Paste your access token in the Enter Access Token field.

13. Scroll down the page to the Contact List Methods section.

14. Click GET to expand that section.

15. Click Try it!

16. The data for your lists displays in the Response Body section. The "id" field and the value shown is the list id you need.

17. Copy and save this information so that it is easy for you to retrieve when you need the list id.

Constant Contact API Keys What's an API Key?

An API Key is a value passed in by applications calling our API (application programming interface) to identify the integration making the call. An API Key is required to use the Constant Contact API.

DO Each integration should only use one API Key.

DO Different applications should use different API Keys.

DON'T Never make your users generate their own API Keys to use with your application.

DON'T Do NOT create a unique API Key for each user. Each API Key can and should be used for multiple Constant Contact accounts. Access tokens are unique, and you should use the OAuth2 process to generate tokens for your users automatically.

Not a Developer?

If you're using an integration that's requiring you to enter your own API Key, please ask the company or developer that build the integration to use their own API Key for all of their users, to avoid this unnecessary work. If you'd like to create your own key so that you can use that integration immediately, feel free to use the steps below, keeping in mind that it's meant for developers. You can enter your company's information as much as possible (e.g. "Application Name" can be your company name), and enter "N/A" for anything you're unsure of.

Getting an API Key

Here's how to get an API Key for your integration:

Sign up for a Mashery account or log in.

Confirm your account, if it's new - Check your inbox for a confirmation email from Mashery.

Register an Application - An API Key will be assigned to your application.

Get an access token - Fill your API Key into this page (if it's not already filled in) and click Get Access Token.

Getting an access token requires a Constant Contact account. When you click Get Access Token, you are taken to a Constant Contact account sign up page. Create a new account, or if you have an existing Constant Contact account (NOT your Mashery developer account), sign in.

Click Grant Access to generate an access token. Copy it and keep it handy.

Types of API Keys

There are two types of API Keys:

API Key Type Description Rate Limits

Standard API access Provides access to public Constant Contact API endpoints 4 calls per second

10,000 calls per day

Partner API access Provides access to all public endpoints plus all Partner-only endpoints. Partner API Keys are only available to Constant Contact Partners, and are approved on a case-by-case basis. Learn more about partnering with Constant Contact.

20 calls per second

250,000 calls per day

About the redirect URI

First, if you are building an application that will access only one Constant Contact account, you do not need to worry yourself about them! Fahgettaboudit!

If you are building an application that will be used by many Constant Contact accounts owners, you will be using a redirect uri along with your API key and client secret in the OAuth 2.0 authentication flow. When you registered your application and got an API key, a default redirect_uri of http://localhost was assigned to the app. You can modify the redirect_uri in API Keys > Applications when you're logged into your Mashery account.

Managing your API Keys

Once you are signed up and logged into Mashery, you will be able to:

Manage and view each API Key and its consumer secret & redirect URI.

Create new API Keys.

Change your email address, company name, blog and website URLs.

View usage statistics for each application

Allow about 5 minutes for changes you make to API Keys in Mashery to be active in Constant Contact.

API rate limit notifications

You will receive email notification for the following rate limit conditions:

When your app starts approaching the daily call limit

When your app reaches the daily limit - at that point the API Key will not be able to make calls until 12:00 am the next day.

WPAffiliate Process Email Template I've gone through and put in the general settings (cookie life to 365 days), and customized the name of your affiliate center. Here's the link for affiliates to sign up or log in to check stats: [Enter URL here] What would you like the default commission to be? We can put in a flat amount or percentage. I've created a list in [Insert Autoresponder name] called [Affiliates] and integrated it with WPAffiliate. I'll forward you the placeholder email I put into the Automation sequence. If we want to add details about what the affiliates may be promoting and how much commission they'd earn, we can add that to the autoresponder thank you email. We can always change the text later. Next, we'll want to decide what free gift affiliates will be promoting. Then, we'll enter the URL as a text link. If you know the URL of the sales page where you'd like the default affiliate link to go to, please let me know. If we're going to be creating a sales page from scratch, we can always update the link later. I can help you create a new sales page for the product if

you need. Then I'll test by changing the price to a dollar and then changing it back right after the test to make sure tracking is working. I find that the best practice is for you to send me a list of the names and emails of affiliates to enter manually into the back end of WPAffiliate. (I can send you a video on how to enter an affiliate if you'd like to enter affiliates too). From there we'll add the text link to the free gift and then I'll send you a spreadsheet with the unique affiliate links for each affiliate to send out with swipe copy. You'd contact affiliates manually with their unique affiliate links (group emails tend to get ignored). Thanks! Gina P.S. JV promo email process explanation Hi,

Thank you for sending the names of the affiliates! I've added them to WPAffiliate. Attached is a spreadsheet with their names and emails. Each has their unique link to the [freebie].

Once the sales page and webinar page is ready, we'll have different links for those as well. There will be a different affiliate link for the webinar and a different affiliate link for the sales page, so I'll just need to know the urls of those pages when they're ready and I'll update the spreadsheet with those links.

You'll want to email each affiliate manually with their name and email in the spreadsheet attached as well as the affiliate login url: [Enter URL here]

Their usernames are created with this naming convention: FirstNameLastName

Passwords are the last names and first names: LastNameFirstName

They can always go to the affiliate login link to change their password if they wish.

JV partners can send an email to their list promoting each event, so they'll send one before the challenge, one before the webinar, and one before the cart open. I'd recommend them sending another before cart close.

You'll want to send out the reminders to promote at least 3-5 days before each event to promote. Sometimes it's good to send an additional reminder the day before, but it's up to you how many reminders you want to send, since you'll email the reminders to each affiliate with their unique affiliate links, swipe copy, and graphics manually. This also ensures they feel special and not just one of many affiliates getting an email template to promote.

What I do for testing is opt-in with my own affiliate link, buy the product at a dollar, and change the price after the test to the real price, and then check the tracking tallied commission correctly. But we'll want to make sure no JVs are sending traffic to the sales page when I test, so that nobody will see the price as a dollar.

Getting Started with Merge Tags The information you collect through your MailChimp signup form is saved in a list field and tied to a unique label, called a merge tag. Use merge tags to insert personalized or dynamic content from your list into the campaigns you send.

In this article, you'll learn about merge tags and ways you can use them to customize your campaigns.

Definitions

If you're new to MailChimp, take a few moments to review the terminology we use to discuss lists and merge tags.

● List A repository of email contacts, along with their profile details and preferences, who have opted-in to receive your campaigns.

● List Field A place in your list where specific contact details are stored, like a cell in a spreadsheet.

● Merge Tag A unique, text-based identifier that corresponds to the data in a list field.

● Dynamic Content The personalized or otherwise unique content that's inserted into a campaign by a merge tag.

Before You Start

● Since lists often contain different list fields, they also have different merge tags. If you have more than one MailChimp list, make sure you use the correct merge tags for the list you plan to send to.

● To make sure each of your contacts sees good-looking content, you should save default merge tag values in your list settings, which we'll cover in this article.

How Merge Tags Work

Your MailChimp list contains list fields that refer to your contact's information. Each list field corresponds to a unique merge tag, that looks like a snippet of text wrapped in special characters: *|EXAMPLE|*. When you insert a merge tag into your campaign, we'll replace the tag with the content stored in the corresponding list field.

For example, to include your contacts' email addresses in your campaign, you would place the *|EMAIL|* merge tag in your campaign where you want your contact's email address to appear.

When your contact receives the campaign, they'll see their own email address where the merge tag was placed.

Some merge tags pull in URLs, which you can use to create hyperlinks on other content, such as text or images. When you link an image in your content with a merge tag, you'll use the hyperlink tool on the editor toolbar to add the merge tag in the linked URL. When your contacts click the linked image they'll be taken to the URL the merge tag refers to, like an update profile page.

Types of Merge Tags

MailChimp offers two types of merge tags to help you include list and contact content: system merge tags and list merge tags. Typically, system merge tags refer to the data in your MailChimp account and list merge tags only refer to the information stored in your list, including contact data.

System merge tags can be used to include social sharing links, RSS content, and account information, or to translate your campaign. System merge tags are also used to add unsubscribe, update profile, and forward links to your campaigns.

List field merge tags pull your list data into your campaigns, like the signup form URL or company name associated with the list, or contact-specific information like email address or first and last name.

Each time you send a campaign that uses merge tags, we'll pull the most recent data from your account or list to replace the merge tag. Customize default merge tags

Default list merge tags look something like this: *|MERGE1|*. You can edit and customize these merge tags in your list settings to give them a more descriptive name, like *|BIRTHDAY|* or *|CITY|*. Be careful when you rename your list merge tags though, because our system uses certain reserved field names that can't be reused elsewhere.

Set default merge tag values

A merge tag only works correctly when there is data in the field it's associated with. For your most commonly used list merge tags, be sure to input default values that will display if the contact profile doesn't have any data in a certain field.

For example, you could set the default value for the first name merge tag to "Friend." Then, when you use "Hello *|FNAME|*," in a campaign, contacts whose first names are not in your list will see "Hello Friend."

If you don't set a default value and the contact doesn't have the data in their profile, they'll see the merge tag itself where the contact-specific content was supposed to appear.

How to Use Merge Tags

To include dynamic merge tag content in your campaigns, type the merge tag directly into your campaign content or choose a merge tag from the Merge Tags drop-down menu.

Merge tags can be added to any campaign type or automation email, and in the Final "welcome" email in the Form Builder.

When you type a merge tag directly into your content, be sure to surround the label with the asterisk (*) and pipe (|) characters. If there's a typo in the merge tag, your contacts will see the mistyped text instead of their personalized content. You'll find the pipe key above the Enter/Return

Choose a Tag in the Toolbar

To avoid typos and syntax errors, insert a merge tag in a content block from the merge tag menu. Place your cursor where you want the merge tag to appear, and click the Merge Tags drop-down menu on the editor toolbar. Choose the merge tag you need, and that's it!

Testing and Troubleshooting

You should always preview and test your merge tags before your campaign goes out. Here are some things to know about testing merge tags in MailChimp.

● To see a live preview of your merge tags, toggle the Enable live merge tag info slider to the green checkmark in Preview Mode.

● Merge tags do not preview in the Template Editor. To test these merge tags, create a campaign from the saved template and use our preview and test tools.

● If you use merge tags in your signup forms and response emails, sign up to your list through the form, and review how they appear in each step of the process.

After you're familiar with list fields, you can segment your contacts with the information stored in your MailChimp list fields. When you build list segments with contact information, you'll be able to send targeted campaigns to people with shared interests or similar profiles.
