Write an equation in slope-intercept form:
1. Given slope -6 and y-intercept is 9.
2. Given slope ⅓ and passes through (2,-1)
y= -6x + 9
y+1= ⅓(x – 2) distributey+1 = ⅓x - ⅔ subtract 1y = ⅓x – 1⅔
Write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form (y = mx+b):
3. Passing through (-1,2) and (4,5)
4. Passing through (3,-5) and (-4,2)
y+5= -1(x - 3) distributey+5 = -1x + 3 subtract 5 y = -1x - 2
m= 5-24+1
= 3 5
m= 2+5-4-3

y-2= 3/5(x + 1) distributey-2 = 3/5x + 3/5 add 2y = 3/5x + 2 3/5
5. Write equation of the line perpendicular to 2y + 3x = 8 and passes (3,4).
6. Write equation of the line parallel to 4y - 3x = 16 and passes (2,-1).
y-4= ⅔(x - 3) distributey-4 = ⅔x - 2 add 4y = ⅔x + 2
m = ⅔2y = -3x + 8 y = -3/2x + 4
4y = 3x + 16 y = ¾x + 4
y + 1= ¾(x - 2) distributey+ 1 = ¾x - 1½ subtract 1y = ¾x - 2½
m = ¾
7. Passing through (7,4) and (8,-3)m= -3-4
8-7 = -7 =-7 1
y-4= -7(x - 7) distributey-4 = -7x + 49 add 4 y = -7x + 53
