A hidden love

Like the beginning of all love stories we had an encounter with Salvagnini in the spring Over years of mutual accommodation like a hidden love we established a further connection with Salvagnini At the China International Machine Tool amp Tools Exhibition in April 2000 the huge exhibition hall was filled with various machines from all over the world During the visit a grey-blue panelbender marked with ldquoSalvagninirdquo in red drew the attention of our General Manager who gazed at it for a few seconds and involuntarily walked up to it Looking closer he found the panelbender featuring a simple design completed a perfect sample with four-side bending in less than a minute via its C arm under the control of computer The resulted piece was precise in its dimensions Its remarkable performance impressed our General Manager by easily addressing our problems in major aspects such as arc bending and panel bending However we were still an obscure factory that

could not afford such an expensive device despite our extreme demand We have been speaking highly of Salvagnini products for their quality except for their high price At the exhibitions in the following years we could hardly keep our eyes off Salvagnini panelbenders We finally decided to buy one until the end of 2008 which unfortunately was still unaffordable for us After hearing about our plight and thanks to our attention over those years Salvagnini decided to offer an installment plan to relieve our stress so as to satisfy our desire for a Salvagnini machine As a return for such a kindly trust we successfully set up a partnership with Salvagnini Our first flexible panelbender from Salvagnini was put into operation at the TBK workshop in August 2009

Mutual adaptation

In addition to advanced equipment and technology Salvagnini also provides us with more value-added service and support including 24-hour service timely response to phone calls prompt problem solving on site or via remote control We are deeply touched by the engineers of Salvagnini for their patience and dedication Furthermore it was proven that Salvagnini automatic benders have higher operation stability than other competitive products featuring easy programming and lower technical thresholds Salvagnini provides trainings for employees starting from manual work and holds highly strict requirements on every detail even an easy movement of screwing In case of any abnormal condition everyone in Salvagnini has a sense of entrepreneurship out to deal with it These common practices we accustomed to have been thoroughly hammered and tempered by Salvagnini All these characteristics create the rigorous and excellent quality of Salvagnini

Whatrsquos more in 2014 when the new P2 was put into trial operation we found that its security was improved yet the efficiency was lower than that of the previous P2 Our technicians immediately requested a 3-month delay in inspection and acceptance as they believed such issue was caused by improper design and asked for modifications While we had thought it might be a tug of war Salvagnini immediately accepted our suggestions and contacted its Austrian engineers to figure out solutions Upon the alteration of equipment programs the processing rate of each part increased by three seconds

Tacit understanding

Amid the past years of cooperation and adjustment we achieved tacit understanding with Salvagnini From 2013 to 2017 TBK started a new round of revolution Technicians paid several visits to Europe for investigation and a large number of cutting-edge

flexible devices were introduced Salvagnini has definitely become our long-term strategic partner In 2014 we introduced the S4 + P4 line with MVc and a new P2 achieving the seamless connection between the MVc and uncutting devicecoiling-shearing equipment Thanks to the experience of automation the machines we selected were more suitable for TBK products In 2015-2017 we also introduced two L3 fiber laser machines with ADL two P2L hybrid panel benders two automatic servo hydraulic-free panel benders P1 and one P4 These devices hold a large proportion of the advanced equipment of the company Meanwhile we have become the sample factory of Salvagnini in South China and gave several receptions to our peers It is a public concern that if our return on investment is too low for massive investments in the metal plate products with low gold content of technology According to Li Xiaolin Deputy General Manager it is inaccurate to simply apply the traditional activity-based cost in calculation of return on investment Because these devices have improved the processing flexibility brought about technical innovations that cannot be measured by cost changed product structures and designs and completed the work that cannot be precisely done by manpower For the parts that need to be assembled with workpieces by manual processing the devices can complete the assembly with one workpiece which achieves simplification in process

After the introduction of these advanced equipment technicians strived to study the connection of materials so as to reduce material

transfer and loss of process and minimize waste Based on the flexibility and accuracy of the equipment they developed more competitive products such as one-piece design clamp-free design and family structure design leading to significant reduction of preliminary investment and preparation time short reaction period faster assembly of post-processes and elimination of unnecessary maintenance They developed effective production plans by optimizing production schedules and calculating the processing load based on the processing time of parts Meanwhile they also developed programs to replace paper-based instructions so as to achieve seamless connection of production process as well as unmanned operation Their efforts in such improvement led to management upgrade From 2013 to 2016 the company witnessed an overall rapid growth of technology and management driven by the advanced equipment A good or suitable partner not only teaches you how to progress but also inspires you to explore and deliver your potential to constantly go forward and overcome difficulties for a better future Over the past decade from initial favorable impression growing fondness to tacit understanding TBK and Salvagnini seemed to be in a long-running love relationship imperceptibly but inexorably and became better in their mutual cooperation
