First Floor Plan
The Villas were designed to activate a high profile intersection in Bondi, the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, Australia. A banding system, wrapped the building creating long sinuous open-ings that allowed the building to breathe both visually and environmentally. With geometry borrowed from the ocean side culture of waves, surf, and sea, the building peels up at it base to accommodate public program such as a restaurant and elderly car facilities. The above three floors hold six apartments each, and incorporate rooftop terraces for all apartments on the third floor.

17 Dalmeny Ave
Located in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia, this project was a addition onto a Federal
Period style home. The addition to the house was to include a new kitchen, living
space, bathroom, and en suite master bedroom
upstairs. The new comple-ments the old, as the existing
pitch of the roof is extruded outward to the rear of the
site. The result is a shell paneling system, providing
skylights at specific intervals and capped with a transparent wall of glass
eroding the division between the interior
and the exterior.

turbulenceshifting
Studio Supercharged served as an attempt to prototype for the approaching zero emissions era. In the design of the first Electric Vehicle Hub in NYC, it was our goal to create an expressive, compelling, and innovative design; one that could supplement the cities needs. By providing an opportunity for the public to interact with - and further understand - the new technologies (of fabrication, branding, wind collection, automotive design, etc. Shifting Turbulence works toward the goal of a zero emissions future by fostering the growing popularity of electric vehicles.
Shifting Turbulence mediates technology, form, and culture. Architecture is a medium for discovery. By combin-ing these three factors into the design process, the building’s form breeds new unique relationships between program and function. Each part of the whole, effectively, works to support the building as a system that provides energy for the EV; moreover, the shape the building takes must take into consideration this primary function, but must also be provocative. It must become an icon, and symbol to the public representing our modern era.

interiorities
Working in a remote region of Papua New Guinea, the Kokopo Residenece simulates the fluid geometries of volcanic lava. Walls flow and undulate through the site encouraging a variety of unique spaces to unflold. The walls carry with them all programatic requirements including: furniture, stairs, planters, etc. The roof acts as a giant canopy, and allows for cross ventilation in the open air residence. Local woods and vegeitation are used to fuse the building into its jungle context.

renovationornamental
interioritiesThe renovation of a three bedroom house in Papua New Guinea, involved the addition of anew roof and supporting trellis structure. The structure provides common place functionssuch as a balustrade and security. However, the design also involved a tribal, ethnic, andcontemporary aesthetic. Driven from the local tribal masks, the design utilized symmetry andfluidity to preserve and a “mask” the existing structure. The structure holding the roofbecomes ornament enhancing the experience of space.

With any contemporary institution there must exist a positive tension between provision for the public and provision for the participant.
Tectonically this tension manifests itself in the basic elements of architec-ture - circulation, program, enclosure, etc. At ground level the design
branches out toward the public attracting and dispersing throughout. It takes root in the urban fabric. Absent of this stability the architecture
becomes like a plant with no nutrition; the cultural value withers up and it becomes mundane.
