NEWS FROM THE PTO

Dear Woodview Families, As the end of another school year approaches, members of the PTO are feeling especially grateful to the parent community and the Woodview staff, as we look back on the events and many successes of the 2012-2013 school year. Of particular recent note, we'd like to extend a big “thank you” to: • Traci Parker, and the many Exploration Day Volunteers for coordinating another incredible Exploration Day for Woodview's kids. This is a Woodview tradition that continues to energize our kids and expose them to many new and varied learning opportunities. • Traci Parker, outgoing PTO Secretary, for her years of service to the PTO, as she moves on to Frederick with her youngest child. Her presence will be missed at our family events, where Traci always lent a hand, and especially on Exploration Day, where Traci was instrumental in planning and organizing the day. • Ms. Sousa, for her role as PTO Staff Liaison, and her ongoing presence and many contributions at PTO meetings and events. • Mrs. Santelle, for her thoughtful guidance and positive presence at every PTO-sponsored event and meeting this year. We feel fortunate to be a part of this learning community with her. • Every parent, family member, and Woodview staff member who has donated their time, talent, or energy toward a PTO event or fundraiser this year. You’ve helped Woodview PTO to have an incredible year, and to surpass its fundrasing goals. Together, we have purchased: • SMARTBoards to outfit all remaining Woodview classrooms, • $3000 worth of new library books, • a new sound system for the music room, • a new drum set for the music program, • additional PE equipment and, over the summer, we will have funded: • an iPad for PE fitness programs, • 12 iPads for classroom use, • a SMARTBoard for the art room, • a new rug and supplies for the art program, and • materials for a school garden. These purchases are in addition to many classroom supplies, funds for field trips at each grade level, sev-eral fine arts assemblies, Exploration Day, and multiple family events.

Thank you one and all for your support! Enjoy a wonderful summer! Be sure to bookmark the Woodview PTO website, www.woodviewpto.com,

and check back for important updates this summer, as the new school year approaches! Sincerely Yours, Woodview PTO

NEWS FROM THE PTO

Dear Woodview Friends,

Together with our parent community, our PTO Board has had a tremendously satisfying and

successful 2012-2013 school year, having hosted several family events and fundraisers that

enabled us to purchase five SMART Boards for Woodview classrooms, a sound system for the Music department, many library books, as well as to provide funding for Exploration Day,

field trips, and several fine arts assemblies, plus many, many classroom supplies and materials for our teachers and kids. Together, we are a community of parents that gets

things done and makes a difference in our school!

Now, the Woodview PTO is looking ahead to next year, and we want to include you. Several PTO Board positions will be open, and we'd love to fill them soon, to ensure a smooth

transition and to be able to continue to provide these "extras" for our families, teachers, and children. The following positions are open:
