The last day of instruction is Friday, December 20, 2019. Students return on Monday, January 6, 2020. MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Dear Woodburn Families, As winter weather approaches there is the possibility of schedule changes. In the event of a school closure or delay, the district will launch an emergency notication alert. A recorded message will be sent via the primary phone number to every parent in the district when schools are delayed or canceled. You will receive this call at approximately 6:00 AM. The information is also available through local news media and the district website. Please notify the school oce immediately if your child has a different than normal emergency plan in the event school closes early for any reason. Your child must have an emergency plan in place (and the oce notied of the plan) if he/she is to do something other than his/her regular dismissal routine. Note: Snow routes are not the same as 2-hour late starts. If you live on a snow route, you have already been notied by the Transportation Department. In the event of a 2 -hour late start on any Wednesday, all elementary schools will dismiss at 2:30 instead of 12:10. Winter Break will be from December 23 - January 3. Students will return to school Monday, January 6, 2020. Have a wonderful winter break.     4TH & 5TH GRADEPERCUSSION CLUBIt is time for Percussion Club at Woodburn. Because of thenature of the group and the number of instruments, Mr. Ainleyis limiting participation to 24 students. Yellow permissionforms went home with students the week of December 9th. Ifyour child decides to join Percussion Club, please return theyellow form to your child's teacher by January 6, 2019, and besure to email Mr. Ainley ([email protected])so he can add your email to the Percussion Club emaildistribution list. Percussion Club may include conga drums, barred instruments,recorders, other non-pitched percussion, and singing. Date: Percussion Club will start on Wednesday, January 8Time: 12:15-1:00 PMDismissal: Students will be dismissed through the rearcafeteria doors. Please pick up your child promptly at 1:00 PM.

    Students may arrive asearly as 7:45 AM. Nosupervision is availablebefore then.If your child is hesitant togo on the playground from7:45-8:00 AM, they maywait in the lobby area aslong as they areaccompanied by an adult.Bikers and walkers MUSTuse the crosswalks.Bikers and Walkersshould NEVER cut througheither parking lot.Parents/Guardians mustpark in the large, easternparking lot. The smaller lot(west) is reserved forSTAFF PARKING ONLY.

    DISMISSALFROMSCHOOL

    Walkers cannot be pickedup curbside. If yourstudent is dismissedthrough the walker area,they cannot be picked upat the curb by car. If youchoose to pick up by car,you will need to park in thelarge (east) parking lotand walk over to meetyour student. Be sure touse the crosswalk to andfrom your car.

    CAR DROPOFF & PICKUP

    When using the circulardrop-off lanes in front ofthe school, please pullyour car all the wayforward.Be patient and drive slow,5 mph.NEVER allow your child toexit your car on the driver'sside.Only allow children to exitthe car when you're in thecurb-side lane.
