•2013 API brings VSA to 917, an almost 300 point increase from its opening year. Since its last renewal in 2009, the school has remained in the 900 range.

•The school’s name was changed from University Public School to Aspire Vincent Shalvey Academy in 2010.

•In 2010, VSA received the CA Distinguished Schools Award for the second time.

•VSA was named one of the top 10 Charter Schools in California by a USC study.
