PROJECT INTRODUCTIONGreen Power Now was founded in 2008, aimed at providing global view for youth and
raising their awareness about energy issues in China through AIESEC international
exchange platform, by cooperating with schools, corporates, NGOs and bringing in
international volunteers to offer courses related to green power and help the students
become future leaders in Green field with strong social responsibility. The program aims
to educate the future generation about the environment and empower them to become
environmental and social leaders of their community.
Green Power Now is one of the most impactful national project in AIESEC Mainland of
China. In 2013-2014, we impacted 11 cities,14 LCs, 160 trainees, more than 100 high
schools by providing green courses and campus green activities. What’s more, for the
past several years we have involved Garnier, Disney, Momentum as Corporate Social
Responsibility Partner, cooperated with Marinedream Foundation, Greennovate as
national learning partner and organized annual Green Leadership Forum as the closing
for the project for greater social impact and youth engagement.
Green Power Now is designed according to a sustainable and smart project business
model to make sure its impact will last from generation to generation. AIESEC raised
schools to the project, who received 6-week green project courses while these high
school students are the potential future AIESECers. The international trainees are
trained as school facilitators by national NGO partner for better professional knowledge
on sustainability, and they will work as a group to co-create environmental protection
courses to spread out issue based knowledge on sustainability. CSR partners
sponsored the project and attended project events as judges or speakers, while AIESEC
provided them with a CSR solution to establish better corporate branding and bigger
social impact.

Power Now is one of the most impactful project
in AIESEC XJTLU. In 2013-2014, we impacted,
5 schools, 9 trainees, more than 200 students
by providing green courses and campus green
activities. The inters will work with the 3-4
others trainees who come from different
countries. The program aims to educate the
future generation about the environment and
empower them to become environmental and
social leaders of their community.
I am Weiser, a student from XJTLU, also a buddy for AIESEC GPN project in 2014. During the project, I have met
lots of amazing things and experienced something,I’ve never tried before, as a result of this I feel so glad that I joined
this project in my university life. As a buddy, I am in charge of the cooperation with trainees and taking care of their daily life because they were totally
unfamiliar with China. I am a friend of them and they relied on me which made me feel the importance of accompany.
We had fun together, travelled to lots of cities and ate delicious food… besides, we also designed the classes and
lectures’ outline for middle school students, to teach them the environmental protections and growth a green seed
in their pure heart. Both trainees and I felt this is a very great job and believed that we have done something which
may change the world one day.Not only the foreigner friends, there are also a group of people who I admire and
want to make friends with them. They are AIESECers from XJTLU. I am deeply touched by their passions and
commitments for the project and all trainees and buddies. They are just like angles. Do something good without return.
That why I decided to join AIESEC next semester and be an angel for society.

【Training】The volunteers will be trained by AIESEC XJTLU for a few days, which will take about the knowledge of environmental protection and the volunteers how to feel better in China, also bring them to visit some sights.
【Teaching】EP will give classes about mainly environment protection and green knowledge for secondary school students. The class will focus on some workshop , discussion, games, practice and experiment to inspire students critical thinking and creative ideas. Students will also have some classes outside the classroom. The courses will be designed by volunteers and our buddies.
【Outdoor Activities】Volunteers can take students to some organic farms and practice base on the weekends to do some practice in order to help children understand our nature better. Let them get close to the nature and experience it.
【Culture Exploring】The buddies will take volunteers to visit some famous and special scenery spots in Suzhou and its nearby cities on the weekends to explore Chinese culture. Also enjoy different kinds of traditional Chinese food. Suzhou is “the paradise of China” with many traditional Chinese features and beautiful scenery. It is a city which combine modern and tradition. During the practice, volunteers will also learn a lot Chinese culture at the same time.
【Self-Development】Volunteers will lead students to do some environmentally friendly activities such as organizing sustainable fashion shows , environment protection planning competition or picking up the rubbish in the local community.

Obtain the right visa (better F) and plane tickets for the whole duration .For convenience, EPs had better bring their labs for class teaching. Considering the weather and temperature in China, Suzhou in spring. EPs should do some preparations to suit the weather. EPs had better bring some medicine for emergency themselves.
Devote to the society and learn some knowledge about environment protection; Team work; Project cross-cultural communication skills; Learn to teach students at different age; Develop leadership through AIESEC projects; Have a better understanding of Chinese language, history, culture and lifestyle; Build up personal awareness and appreciation living in foreign environment.; Learn various skills.
MORE INFORMATION
The project was divided into two stages. The first part start from 15 March to 28 April and the second part start from 1 May to 20 June. Trainees can choose to participate in one part of them. The two part is the content of the same.
