Which of these examples embraces the spoon philosophy?

In Kate Chopin's, The Awakening, the themes of freedom

and isolation are pervasive throughout the book.

Although Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poem, Spring, and Julia Alvarez’s poem, SPRING, AT LAST!, contrast each other sharply, one image stands out among the rest: the crocus. Each author finds a way to manipulate this simple springtime flower into a symbol that represents their opposite views on the subject of simple beauty.

In Kate Chopin's The Awakening, the themes of freedom and isolation are pervasive throughout the book, as demonstrated through Edna's attire, her decision to move to the "pigeon-house", and her ultimate suicide.

Through its contrasting river and shore scenes, Twain's

Huckleberry Finn suggests that to find the true expression of American democratic ideals, one must leave "civilized" society and go back to nature.
