Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Page 11: Year 10 into IB or VCE

VET is an opportunity for students to gain

direct skills and training under the Australian

Qualification Framework (AQF) in an industry

area related to future career ambitions.

VET programs run

over 2 years(Years 10 & 11, or 11 & 12)

VET classes are held

once a week, on a

Monday or Wednesday

from 1:30 – 5:30pm.

Some VET courses

include Structured

Workplace Learning

(SWL)

VET fees are in addition

to College Fees

(“User Pays” system)

Page 12: Year 10 into IB or VCE

Benefits of VET

VET programs

provide you with

a range of

unique

opportunities and

experiences in a

career you might

be considering.

VET can

contribute to your

ATAR score

VET facilitates “on the job” training,

meaning you will have job-ready skills in

your chosen industry

VET can contribute

to the eligibility

requirements for

the VCEOther

benefits

are…

Successful

completion of

VET courses

results in a

nationally

accredited

qualification

VET students get an early “taster” of their

chosen career. This can make future

decision-making much clearer.

There are a wide and

diverse range of

courses to choose

from.
