END OF YEAR EXAMINATIONS
It’s that time of the year again. Examinations are fast approaching and
your thoughts should be beginning to turn to revision.
As the examination period draws near, it is important that revision begins
now and that it is carefully distributed over the coming weeks.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE THE EXAMINATION PERIOD BEGINS?
Before the examination period begins, you should:
know the dates and times of each examination;
know the venue for your examinations;
have a revision plan in place and follow this carefully;
know what topics are being assessed in each subject and
ensure that you have revised each of these thoroughly;
make sure that you have ‘caught up’ on any notes you
may have missed due to absence; and
know what materials / equipment you will require to complete each examination
and make sure you have the correct equipment packed

ENGLISH
In order to complete this exam, you will need to bring the
following materials / equipment:
● A pen and a highlighter.
Response to 19th Century Unseen Prose
This exam requires students to read an extract from a 19th Century Novel and answer three
questions in response to the extract. There will be one short question and two essay style
questions.
The second part of the exam is a Literacy Test that will test spelling, punctuation and
grammar.
