There is a strong prevailing wind that comes across the site from the South-West. The taller buildings located on the south sides of the river sheild our site slightly, however the low elevation of the Lendal Bridge seems to accellerate the wind speeds around our site.

The greenery in the city isriddled with paths and they filla large area of the map.They are all located in one areaadjacent to the train station. Thetracks and the York Gardens allowfor open spaces right within thecentral area of York.

At a closer look the Guildhall looks veryboxed in by the surroudning buildings.There is some clear areas on either side,as the buildings create irregular courtyardsand spaces all over the city centre.Access to the site is therefore not the easiestto acheive currently.
The designated site will become a brownfield site when the currentsmall scale buildings are knocked down.

Currently, access to the site is prohibited only to a tunnel passage located to the west of the Guild Hall. There are various allyways and passages around the site that could potentially open up the site to create new points ofaccess for pedestrians.
