Spanish language classes for beginnersTaking place on Friday evenings over eight weeks, this workshop is an introductory course suitable for adults who have no prior knowledge of the Spanish language. By the end of the course, students will be able to introduce themselves and ask someone their nationality and personal details; express likes, dislikes and interests; describe people’s personalities and appearances and converse about their friends and family.

Architecture on Show: Ware-housing- New residential uses for old industrial buildingsHow much do our urban places need to change to accommodate increased residential density? This talk will explore the potential of converting old industrial buildings for new residential uses whilst retaining the character and scale of our streets and spaces. Stefanie Hughes, an associate at SJB Architects, will discuss her Cleveland & Co project, a residential conversion of two adjacent industrial buildings in Surry Hills. Architect Kieran McInerney, will speak about his award-winning Egan Street project in Newtown, a collaborative financing, design and building effort to develop low-rise high-density housing within a former panel beating shop.

Curated and introduced by local architects Sam Rigoli, Michael Zanardo, Casey Bryant and Lisa Merkesteyn, the Architecture on Show talks are presented by Inner West Council in association with the Australian Institute of Architects.
