Established by friends and family of the late Jim Grabowski, this fund offers kids the opportunity to play in park district instructional sports programs and leagues.

Jim, a fun-loving and loyal husband, father, and friend, passed away suddenly in 2011 at age 44. As a volunteer, he enjoyed coaching kids and investing in young athletes.

Applying to the fund is as easy as 1, 2, 3! 1. Complete the fund form and attach with your sport registration.

2. Return both forms to the Beech Acres Park RecPlex before the program deadline.

3. Consider volunteering at a park district event.

Get involved and become a coach! Park district youth basketball and volleyball leagues are coached by volunteers. Coaches are vital to our leagues and without a coach, teams are unable to play. The children of the head and assistant coaches will be assigned to the same team.

All coaches are required to complete the following:• Youth Sports Coaching Application• Background Check Form• Coaches Code of Ethics• Concussion Training Completion Certificate

Fees• There are no hidden fees! Registration includes officials, gym time, scorekeepers, uniforms (rec only) and practice time (rec only).• Free entry to all games.

Recreational Leagues Structure• Recreational leagues are instructional and designed for beginners. • Individual registration only.• Players are placed on teams by the ATPD based on school attended.• Maximum number of players per team based on sport.• Playing time requirements are enforced.• Uniforms are provided.• Season does not include a tournament.• Game dates subject to change due to facility availability.

Practices• Scheduled one hour per week between 4:30-9 p.m. • The ATPD will make schedules as consistent as possible. • Coaches will pick practice schedules at the coaches meeting.• If your child is placed on a team that practices when you cannot, the ATPD can provide you with additional options.
