Investigated the binding affinity of a common phthalate, bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, to th receptors. Partnering w nonprofit Timmy Global Health, I was one of fourteen students who travelled to Tena, Ecuador & surrounding Napo Province in March of 2014. I had a life changing experience in Ecuador with my fellow pe the medical professionals, translators, peace-corps volunteers, brigade coordinators & the people of the N Province. I was able to experience medical care & treatment up close & first hand while being heavily invol in treating & caring for patients. Our primary objectives were to provide basic healthcare services to those w do not readily have access to necessary & essential services such as glucose monitoring, pregnancy te dental care, & basic medications. This was my first time out of the country & was certainly a big milestone in life. It has empowered me to think more critically about public & global health, & also motivated me to conti pursuing my interests in textile innovation, medicine & volunteering.
