2014 ANNUAL REPORT
!FROM CO-FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LINDSEY KITTREDGE !According to the World Health Organiza3on (WHO), physical inac3vity is the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality. 1 out of every 4 children is inac3ve and lacks access to sport programming. !For a moment, think of a world where YOU were denied the opportunity to play that sport you loved? How would YOUR life trajectory be different? With no access to sports, children live in a world with increased obesity and disease rates, and decreased opportuni3es for social development, educa3on, conflict resolu3on and gender equity. For hundreds of thousands of children around the world, this is very much a reality. !Simply, children with access to sports live healthier, happier and longer lives. !In 2014, our team has worked 3relessly in Boston and in Africa to ensure that EVERY child can exercise his/her right to play. !This has been an enormous year of growth and scalability. Our longterm impact is building in the communi3es we serve. Thank you all for helping us reach this point in our organiza3on’s evolu3on. I invite you to stay on this ride with us and ensure that through your support, the impact each of us make through this organiza3on will make the world’s children healthier and happier. Sport is medicine and we have the obliga3on to give it to all children in need. !Yours truly, !Lindsey KiZredge Co-‐Founder and Execu3ve Director

PARTNERS
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Boston Center for Youth and Families (BCYF) and Shoo3ng Touch began our partnership in late December of 2014. Priding itself on being Boston's largest human service provider, BCYF collaborates with Shoo3ng Touch on our Geeng Girls in the Game (G3) ini3a3ve. As BCYFs on-‐court partner, we have successfully completed 15 weeks of G3 programming since February. Originally only at BCYF’s Quincy and Tynan centers in Chinatown and South Boston respec3vely, the program has recently expanded to meet the demands of BCYF’s Perkins Center in Dorchester, with many more of the 25 centers showing interest.
Babson College – In March of 2015, Babson College was the host to Shoo3ng Touch’s annual Spring Sports Conference, centered around “The Business of Sports” with an event high of 230 aZendees. Big industry names like Kevin Eastman, Jackie MacMullan, Brad Stevens, and Ethan Zohn sat on six amazing panels covering the current landscape of sport and the different industries that surrounds. Babson provided space and volunteers who not only assisted the day of the event, but also worked to market and sponsor the event.
Shoo3ng Touch began partnerships with key organiza3ons that have helped our programs take off into another stratosphere. These organiza3ons share our ethics and passion, and will con3nue to be integral to our mission to help young people increase access to physical ac3vity for underserved youth.
Established a formal partnership with the Rwandan Federa3on of Basketball (FERWABA). As the only basketball partner of FERWABA, Shoo3ng Touch shares the mutual goal of increasing Rwandan youth par3cipa3on in basketball. Shoo3ng Touch will aim to help FERWABA achieve its goal of reaching the #3 FIBA Africa rank by 2017.
!Established a new Shoo3ng Touch headquarters at the Kayonza Youth Friendly Center (KYFC) in the heart of the Eastern Province, has been an important partner for Shoo3ng Touch since 2013. However this year our organiza3ons came even closer together, using the facility as Shoo3ng Touch’s Headquarters. Aiding us in the logis3cal organiza3on of events, providing speakers, and space to work in, KYFC was the site of half of this year’s coaching clinics.
!Kepler University -‐ A non-‐profit university located in Kigali, is designed to offer “an American degree in Rwanda”. Kepler has already provided Shoo3ng Touch with Rwandan interns including two health and empowerment interns and one digital media rela3ons intern.
Society for Family Health (SFH) -‐ Establishing a formal working rela3onship with the Basketball Health Corps in early 2015, is Rwanda’s leading non-‐government and nonprofit social marke3ng organiza3on that provides health products, services and behavior change communica3ons to Rwanda’s popula3on.
