2018 marks some significant shifts in labour movement in Vietnam. With 16 bilateral & mul-
tilateral free trade agreements, Vietnam is set to attract a significant increase in foreign
direct investment (FDI). The 4th Industrial Revolution will replace repetitive jobs through au-
tomation, while the demand for technical, higher cognitive, social & emotional skills will rise.
The demand for talent in manufacturing is also increasing, as the trade war between the US
& China accelerates. The HR industry recorded the rise of HRBP & Legal Business Partner,
who contribute their own unique values in talent management and business partnering to
the company growth. 2018 also witnessed the rise of senior-level positions (Relationship
Manager, Agency Development Manager,...) within the Finance industry.
Yet, the country workforces are not fully ready for these opportunities. Vietnamese em-
