Mt. Zion's Church Conference will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday,
September 28 at St. Paul's UMC, 7538 Main Street, Sykesville, MD 21784.
The Pioneer Class will resume on Sept. 22 at 10:10 am in Conference
Room 1 as we begin an in-depth study of the Old Testament book of Exodus.
Bring your Bible or use one of ours. No Bible study experience is necessary!
Open Doors Food Pantry needs your help! Friday, September 20th from
12:30 to 2:00 pm to help set up dry goods and/or Saturday, September 21st
from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm to unload fresh produce, serve others, and help
clean up. Any time you have to help is a blessing. Don’t forget to drop your
loose change in the offering basket! Please also note the following schedule
changes: November 23rd instead of 16th and December 14th instead of 21st.

Seated Chair Class is back. Every Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:00
(with some exceptions). There will be no Seated Chair Class September 18.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry group meets at 10:00 am on the second
Wednesday of the month. Join us to knit and crochet shawls and blankets for
those in hospitals, nursing homes, or those at home who may need a bit of

Stephen Ministry Retreat at Bon Secours, October 6, 12:30- 5:30 pm.
Calling all Stephen Ministers! In lieu of our regular Continuing Education
for October, we will have an offsite retreat at Bon Secours Retreat and
Conference Center, Marriottsville, MD. The program topic is Self-Care, led
by Barb Jacques. There is no cost to our Stephen Ministry Team, but an
RSVP is required by Sept. 18. Lunch and snacks provided. Contact Belinda
Norton, to register. Those participating in this year's Stephen Ministry
Training are also welcome.
The Committee on Lay Leadership (Nominating Committee) meets
monthly to explore how we can match people’s skills to engage in ministry
and serve Christ’s Church. Please reach out to us so you might be engaged in
Christ’s ministry here at Mt. Zion, in our community, and around the world.
