HIGHLIGHTSFROM:TOGATEAM,TERMINALONEGROUPASSOCIATIONWhenthenewterminalisfullydevelopedandupandrunningbytheendof2025,webelievethattherewillbe15,000jobs,15,000employees,approximately,workingatTerminalOne.That'sover8,000additionalandpermanentjobs.Thatisinadditiontotheapproximately5,000constructionjobsthatwillbeattheterminalandtheirconstructorsthatwillbebuildingTerminalOnethroughoutthisconstructionperiodthatwillstartnextyearandendin2025,soafive-yearperiod.

TheTerminalOneTeamlooksforwardtoidentifyandcreateeducationandcareerdevelopmentinitiativeswiththedevelopmentofthe“JFKAirportAcademy”.TheNewTerminalOneisforecastedtocreate8,000newpermanentjobsinthefollowingareasTerminalOperations,PassengerExperience&EconomicandLeadership&Executive.ConsiderableoutreachhasbeenmadetolocalMWBEfirms.McKissackisleadingthelocalworkforceandengagementefforts.TheTerminalOneTeamrecentlylaunchedaprocessseekingadditionalMWBEfinancingtopotentiallysupplementtheConsortium’sexistingMWBE,JLCTerminalOneisleadingthefit-outoftheJFK-wideprojectmanagementofficesinJFKBuilding111AwebsiteisindevelopmentsothatwecanhaveportalsandgivefulltransparencyworkingalongwiththePortAuthoritytoensurethatthepublic,yourneighbors,knowtheopportunitiesthatareavailable.

HIGHLIGHTSFROM:JETBLUEJetBlueiscommittedtostrengtheningtheirexistingcommitmenttotheQueensCommunityoverthepast20yearswithprogramslike“FlyLikeaGirl”andACECamp.Thebiggestsetofopportunities,relatestotheupcomingdesignbuildprocurementprocessstartingattheendofthemonth.Thedesignandconstructionofthisprojectwillbringonasingleprimecontractortodobothdesignandconstructionoverthelengthoftheproject.JetBluewillbeselectingthatcontractorthisspring.AbigpartoftheselectionwillbehowtheyplanforMWBEgoalsandwhattheirstrategyanddollarcommitmentamountsaretoMWBEgoals.

HIGHLIGHTSFROM:GOVERNOR’SOFFICEPartoftheJFKRedevelopmentProgramatlargeisimprovingaccesstoJFK.ThatmeanstheairtrainanditalsomeanstheVanWyckExpressway.Updateswillbeprovidedandcommentswelcomedatwww.dot.ny.gov/vweHIGHLIGHTSFROM:TERMINAL8EXPANSIONAmericanAirlinesandBritishAirwayswillinvest$344milliontoenhanceandexpandTerminal8.Terminal8'sexpansionallowsfortheco-locationofAmericanAirlinesandBritishAirwaysunderoneroofinordertoofferbetterservicebetweenNewYorkandLondonandalsoLondonthroughallofourotherplacesthatAmericanAirlinesflies.ThisprojectwillbeOctober2022,andofcourseaseverythingworksthroughthePortAuthorityandtheexpectationofmeetingandexceedingGovernorCuomo'sMWBEgoalsof30percent.Someoftheenhancementsthatwillbecomingwiththisprojectare7400squarefeetofadditionalspace,including33,000squarefeetofpublicspace.Newamenities:jointAmericanAirlines/BritishAirwayslounges,newrooms,upgradedbathrooms,newsignageaswellasnewconcessionoptions.
