Workshop on ‘Art of Memorising’
A workshop on „Art of Memorising‟ was conducted by
Memory Guru, Mr. Sudhanshu Singhal for the students of
classes (VII & VIII) on 7 and 8 February 2018. He enlightened
the students with the memory tips. It was really a useful and
interesting workshop. Students learned a lot of ways of
improving memory.
Special Assembly ‘Ashirvachnam’
To encourage and good luck to the students of class X for their
Board exams, the students of class IX organized a special
assembly „Ashirvachnam‟ on 31 Jan 2018. The programme was
started with lighting of the lamp and school anthem. Then Subit
Shekhar the Deputy Head Boy and Vranda Gulati, the Deputy
Head Girl encouraged the students to work hard with sincerity
and determination while following a proper time schedule.
Aryan Angrishi, the Deputy Head Boy and Manasvi Pant, the
Deputy Head Girl of class X also shared some tips of their own
board preparation. Mr S. Shekhar, the principal, Mr. Sandeep
Nagpal, the coordinator, Dr. Saumya Sharma and Mrs. Aruna
Akela also advised the students to focus on their studies and
health. They also told them many Gurumantras to achieve
success.
Show & Tell Competition
The play way method of teaching – learning process was
brought alive in the Kindergarten wing as a „Show & tell
Competition‟ was organised for the students of classes Nursery
to UKG respectively on 29 January 2018 in their classrooms.
Students were shown different things like flashcards, charts,
props etc. and were asked to spot and recognize objects. The
competition helped the students to recapitulate their knowledge
and also provided them a good opportunity to improve upon
their vocabulary and confidence.
Farewell Party ‘Bhavanjali’
In K. L. International School a farewell party
„Bhavanjali‟ was arranged for the outgoing students of
class XII by the students of class XI on 26 January 2018.
All the students dressed according to the theme of the
party i.e. Indian Tradition. The programme was started
with lighting of the lamp by Vice-Chairman, Director,
Principal, Head Boy and Head Girl of the school. It was
followed by Indian classical and western dance, band
presentation and skit. Many interesting games were also
arranged for class XII students with various titles. Many
students of class XII were honoured for their overall
participation and performance during their schooling. As
Yatharth Mr. KLI, Ritika Ms. KLI, Ashwin Mani Mr.
All Rounder, Ayushi Bhasin and Anushi Ms. All
Rounder, Vipul Tyagi and Vedanshi Kela Mr. & Ms.
Promising Scholar. Ayush Verma, Kartik and Gauri
Singhal were bestowed with the most disciplined title.
Vandit and Leema Tyagi got the title of Mr. & Ms. Punctual, Aastha Bansal and Maulik won the title of Mr. & Ms. Eloquent.
Sidharth Gupta & Pankhuri Joshi were felicitated with the title of Mr. & Ms. Photogenic. Shorya Bhardwaj and Muskan
Tyagi grabbed the title of Mr. & Ms. Farewell respectively.
At the end of the programme, Mr. S. Shekhar, presented students with a memento and wished them good luck for the future
endeavours.
Republic Day
K. L. International School celebrated 69th Republic Day on 26
January 2018 with great pomp and show. Mr. S. Shekhar,
Principal of the school hosted the National Flag which was
followed by National Anthem & March past by the students of
classes VI – VIII. On this occasion students presented cultural
programme under „Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat‟ in which they
showcased the glimpses of four states- Uttar Pradesh,
Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh & Kerala. The principal of the
school told the importance and real meaning of a Republic Day
to them.
Induction Programme
Our school hosted the „Induction Programme‟
organised by CBSE Regional office, Dehradun for
Principals of newly affiliated & upgraded CBSE
schools of Dehradun region on Sunday 21 January
2018. Dr. Saha, Director Vocational Training CBSE,
CBSE joint Director, Dr. Pragya M. Singh were the
chief speakers. The new Teaching Learning Policies,
Curriculum, Educational Planning, Classroom
Teaching, Question Paper Format, Evaluation etc were
dealt in detail by the experts.
The CBSE personnels also inaugurated the Sahodaya
Annual Magazine „Rising Together‟. The program
culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by
Principal of the school. A token of reverence was
presented to the presiding guests from CBSE office.
Handwriting Competition
Under the theme “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” various competitions were organised for the
students of kindergarten on 19 January 2018 where class Nursery actively participated in
Colouring Competition & Class LKG displayed their skills in Handwriting Competition.
Basant Panchami – KG Wing
Basant Panchami was celebrated in the KG Wing with great fervour and
enthusiasm on 19 January 2018. Yellow colour, representative of
spiritual knowledge, is given importance so the pre-primary children
were excited to dress in yellow on the occasion they also enjoyed flying
colourfull kites. They also enjoyed Basanti Pulao and Ladoos in their
tiffins.
Workshop by Mrs. Shweta (Russian Government Univ.)
Career Counselling Workshop was organised for Biology stream students of
classes X & XI. In this workshop, the resource person Mrs. Shweta (Russian
Government Univ.) apprised students about various opportunities present in the
field of Biology. She informed them that they can also go for Aeronautical
Engineering. The Principal, Mr. S.Shekhar appreciated and thanked her for her
valuable guidance.
Counselling session by Ms. Vidushi Sharma
Counselling session was organised by the school specially for the students of
class XI on 26 December 2017 in the school auditorium, wherein the students
were made aware of various conventional as well as unconventional career
options by Ms. Vidushi Sharma a mentor and counsellor. She also informed
students about the emerging trends and possibilities in Analytics, Digital
Marketing etc. She stressed on the importance of good communication skills
and knowledge of a foreign language.
National Creativity Olympiad 2017
Exceptionally talented Tarush Agarwal (VIII) has once again made the school
proud by securing the First Rank in the II round of National Creativity
Olympiad 2017. He has been awarded a cheque of ` 20,000 for his excellent
performance.
Apart from him three other students Nandini Pankaj, Kartik Goyal and Vansh
Mahajan have also cleared the II round and won their respective prize amount
cheques.
The school feels greatly elated on their achievement. Three cheers to the
success of all four of them!
All India Shoto-Kai Karate Championship 2017
All India Shoto-Kai Karate Championship 2017 was organised by Traditional Shoto-
Kai Karate Federation, India at Ginni Devi Girls‟ Degree College, Modinagar on 24
& 25 December 2017 wherein a whopping participation of around 450 karate
champs was witnessed in different categories. Akash Pal, Gauri Raghav and Naina
Raghav proved how well they deliver their kicks as they defeated their contenders
and won gold silver and bronze medals in their respective categories.

Christmas Celebration (I-VIII Wing)
K. L. International School organised many activities and competitions on the
occasion of Christmas for the students of K.G. and for classes I to VIII. The
celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation of all the students. Tiny tots made
beautiful Santa balls, while students of classes I to III made attractive Santas.
Students of classes III to VIII decorated Christmas trees with artificial material.
Principal, Mr. S. Shekhar informed the students importance of festivals and
applauded them for their creative ideas.
Christmas Celebration (KG Wing)
The tiny tots‟ wing celebrated Christmas with great fervour on 23
December 2017. The KG Courtyard reverberated with joy, celebrations and
happiness. A beautiful brightly decorated Christmas tree adorned the
courtyard. Wearing red and white colour clothes the students came up with
exuberant performances. All enjoyed a special tiffin. The celebration also
encompassed an important social cause of saving water and conserving
water bodies. Santa‟s visit left the children with happy faces.
Career Counselling by Mr. Jitin Chawla
The school organised Eureka – a career counselling and student talk session
on 22 December 2017 in the school auditorium for class XII. Around 250
students of KLI and other reputed schools attended the session. A team of
four speakers counselled the students and enlightened them about various
conventional as well as non-conventional career options. The chief speaker
was Mr. Jitin Chawla from the centre for Career Development, New Delhi.
He answered the various queries asked by the students. The highlight of the
program was that to make a judicious career choice. One should take in
account the aptitude, interests and personality of the students. Other eminent
speakers were Mr. Rajeev Chowasjee, Ms. Rekha Chaudhary and Mr.
Dipankar. Tips for better performance in upcoming board examination were
also given to the students.
Lazy eyes check-up by Lion’s Club
A Lazy eyes check-up was organised by Lion‟s Club Meerut Vishal in K. L.
International School on 18 and 19 Dec 2017. Doctors checked the eyes of the
students of classes I to IV and also suggested them the ways to take care of their
tender eyes. On this occasion the Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar welcomed
the chief guest Mr. P.M.J.F. Lion Dr. Mukesh Goyal, inaugurator, M.J.F. Mr.
Alok Bhatnagar and all the doctors present there.
UP State Karate Do Championship 2017
On 17 December 2017, UP State Karate Do Championship 2017 was organised by
Self Defence Karate Do Welfare Association of India at C.C.S. University, Meerut
in which many schools of Modinagar, Hastinapur, Hapur and Bulandshahr
participated. We are proud to inform that our students bagged 5 gold, 3 silver and
2 bronze medals by giving tough competition to others. They brought laurels to
school by winning the Best Team Award.
2nd Open Roller Speed Skating Championship 2017
Competing with 250 students, our super skaters have emerged as winner bagging
15 Gold, 11 Silver and 9 Bronze medals in 2nd Open Roller Speed Skating
Championship 2017 held at Ghaziabad on 17 December 2017. Team KLI was
declared winner and was awarded `6400/- cash prize and “Overall Championship
Trophy”. Kudos to the KLI Skating team for their untiring efforts!
Capacity Building Programme on Classroom Management by CBSE
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) COET
Gurugram organised a two day Capacity Building Programme on
Classroom Management in our school on 15 and 16 December
2017. The main resource persons were Mrs. Sharmila Raheja,
Principal, Uttam School for Girls‟, Ghaziabad and Dr. Shiksha
(HOD Hindi), Queen Mary‟s School, Delhi. About 60 educators
from different schools of Meerut participated in this
knowledgeable session. The session mainly focussed on the three
components of the effective classroom management: Content
Management, Conduct Management and Covenant Management.
It was a great learning experience as it helped the teachers to adopt
various techniques to make the teaching and learning process more
effective. The experienced resource persons beautifully explained
that management of the student teacher relationship is the corner
stone of the classroom management. The need and importance of
inclusive education was highlighted, followed by an inspiring movie. It was a fun filled and enriching session full of hands on
activities for the teachers to indulge in and learn from. The workshop was concluded with this thought that the teachers should
comprehend the child‟s mind and try various ways to reach their level to enlighten and assess their knowledge.
English Recitation Competition
On 14 December 2017, our tiny tots showcased their talent and great spirit in the
English Recitation Competition on the theme „Incredible India‟. Students recited
various rhymes related to different culture of India. Winners were shortlisted on their
selection of rhymes, clarity of speech, costumes and presentation.
Women Empowerment Workshop
A delegation of 42 girl students and two teachers attended a program
on Women Empowerment on 08 December 2017 organised by UP
Police Department under the instructions of Chief Minister UP, Mr.
Yogi Adityanath at CCS University. IPS Officer, SSP Meerut,
Madam Manzil Saini presided over the function as the Chief Guest.
The Program aimed at motivating and empowering girl child and
women folk in the society.
Highlights of the program included Safety Measures and Working of
Power Line Numbers 1090 and 181. The department even aims at
appointing „power angels‟ who would help those who are distressed
and require help. The entire program proved to be a good initiative
that helped all girls to understand the value of dignity.
‘Swirling Hues’- The Annual Day
With much joy and enthusiasm students of Nursery,
Kindergarten and Primary wing of school celebrated the
Annual Day “Swirling Hues” on 2 December 2017.
Courtyard was packed to capacity with the parents of the
children and special invitees. Mr. Mukesh Chandra (ADM
City) along with his madam Asha Chandra presided over
the function as the Chief Guest. The program was initiated
by a welcome song followed by an array of cultural
programmes. Students were also aw arded certificates and
prizes for academic excellence and full attendance. The
school choir and band put up a soulful rendition. The play
„Betiyan‟ on girl child and education was the highlight of
the function. Other national issues like pollution, smog,
save rivers etc. were also brought forward beautifully by the
students who successfully spread the message. Through a
short skit „Anokha Deepdan‟ the tiny cherubs reminded us
that to make a nation great, contributions and sacrifices
from each individual is required. The students of the KG wing swayed to the tunes of Bollywood songs and brought the sixties
decade alive in front of the audience.
8th NCR Inter School Speed Skating Championship 2017
Kudos to our championships for putting up their best foot forward to bring 6
Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in 8th NCR Inter School Speed
Skating Championship 2017, held at Yamuna Sports Complex, Surajmal
Vihar, Delhi on 2 December 2017. All about 225 students from 29 schools
participated in this 300 meter Speed Skating Race. Our students Priyank
Shukla, Vedang, Aduait, Anshdeep Singh, Yashika and Yash bagged Gold
medals, Yukti and Tushar grabbed silver medals while Rahul Jindal & Shreya
got Bronze medals and made us proud.
Annual Award Ceremony
On 1 December 2017, K. L. International School organized
„EFFERVESCENCE‟ The Annual Award Ceremony to
highlight and appreciate the achievements of the students in
the field of Academics, Sports, Debates and Quiz. Mr.
Tejinder Khurana, Vice-Chairman and Mr. Sudhanshu
Shekhar, Principal extended the floral welcome to the chief
guest Mr. Kuldeep Lamba & Mrs. Gurcharan Kaur Lamba ,
Mr. Gurvinder Lamba and Mrs. Sarbjeet Lamba. Mrs and
Mr. Lamba and Mrs. & Mr. Khurana hander the cheques of
Rs. 11,000/- to the subject, stream and school toppers of
class XII for the session 2016-17 while class X students
who scored 10 CGPA were awarded gift hampers. Students
who bagged Gold and Silver medals in National Skating
Competition were presented the cheque of Rs. 5,100/-.
Likewise Anushka Tomar of class IV won bronze medal in
CBSE National Judo Competition was awarded the cheque
of Rs. 5,100/- from the school. In between many
mesmerizing cultural performances like Fusion Dance, Spanish Dance, Classical and Western Dances entertained the audience. At
the end of the programme the Chief Guest delivered an inspirational motivating address to encourage the students. He also thanked
parents who attended the event and helped to make the day such a success. The programme was ended with the National Anthem.
‘Award Ceremony’ (III-VIII Wing)
On 28 November 2017, an Award Ceremony for classes III-
VIII was celebrated in the school to motivate and encourage
students‟ efforts. In this, all meritorious students and winners
were felicitated for participating in various competitions like
Inter Class Skating Competition, Debate Competition &
Hand-Writing Competition.
Inter School Debate Competition
K. L. International School students stand out wherever they go. Once again
Swastik Dwivedi (VII-E) and Sanchita Bhati (VIII-B) have brought laurels
to school by winning second prize on Inter School Debate Competition at
Dewan Public School International, Delhi Road, Meerut on 25 November
2017. They won certificates and Trophy. Swastik was also awarded with
title of „The Best Speaker‟. Kudos to our debaters!
Handwriting Competition’
To make students focus and careful about their handwriting, ITC Classmate
organised „A Handwriting Competition‟ for the students of classes IV & V in
our school on 25 November 2017. In this competition winners were selected
from each section. These winners were applauded for their efforts.
Constitutional Day
A Special Assembly on Constitutional Day was organized in the school on 25
November 2017. To make students familiar and aware of preamble and
secularism, a small act was staged. The whole programme was conducted
under „Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat‟ an initiative by CBSE.
Phuhaar
Keeping the desire to promote the welfare of others the school
is ever ready for benevolence and generosity. Every year under
the philanthropic activity of the school we organise
“PHUHAAR” in collaboration with Hindustan this year on 24
November 2017. All the students spiritedly gathered packets of
clothes, toys, and toiletries beforehand to be gifted to the poor
and needy children. Honourable Chairman, Mr. Kul deep Singh
Lamba, Vice-Chairman, Mr. Tejinder Khurana, Principal, Mr.
S. Shekhar, Mrs Anita Rana from Janhit Foundation, PCS
Officer Mr. Chakraveer Chaudhary, AGM of Hindustan Mr.
Bhupender Singh and Senior Resident Editor Hindustan Times,
Mr. Pushpender Sharma joined hands with members of NGOs
and gifted the „Invitee Children‟ of Phuhaar with handbags and
gifts. The children also enjoyed a sumptuous lunch. It is rightly
said “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the
greatest intention”.
Inter-School Quiz Competition
An Inter-School Quiz Competition was organised in K. L.
International School on 18 November 2017 wherein 22 renowned scho
ols from Meerut and nearby area participated in the competition. The
Quiz was held in two rounds. Six schools namely KLI, St Mary‟s,
Army Public, IIMT, PGM and shardein qualified the first round and
entered in the final round. First three teams were felicitated. The
principal, Mr. S. Shekhar applauded the efforts of Mr. Ajay Poonia the
Quiz Master and congratulated the winning teams.
Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’
KLI students of classes I – V showcased „Unity in Diversity‟ in
a cultural programme „Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat‟ (proposed by
CBSE) on 16 November 2017 in the school premises. They
showed the festivals, foods, business and monuments of U.P.
Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh & Kerala in their
dances & in the words of eminent personalities of the states. At
the end of the programme, the Principal, Mr. S. Shekhar
appreciated the endeavours of the students.
NSSQ Zonal Round
On 15 November 2017, a group of four students of our school, who were
selected in an All India Online Round, went to NCUI auditorium Delhi to
participate in the Second round of the NCUI, Delhi NSSQ Quiz Competition.
Our students received the participation certificates and display poster on safety
signs.
Children’s Day Celebration
The school witnessed a fun filled and memorable Children‟s Day
Celebration in school on 14 November 2017 from Nursery to Class
XII. The celebration was carried out wing wise where teachers
teamed up for their children and presented an array of programmes
namely dance party, magic show, balloon decoration, games &
special assembly for students. The teachers also presented a song and
a short skit. The smiling faces of all students indicated that their
teachers‟ efforts were well received followed by them.
‘Rally For Rivers’ displayed the photographs
An event ‘Rally For Rivers’ was organised by Sankalp Club of K. L.
International School on 10 November 2017 on the school premises .
In this event participant displayed various photographs of bright side
and dark side of nature to emphasis on the condition of the river. Mr.
Nitin Goyal, the judge of the event appreciated students‟ vigorous
efforts to save rivers. Anchal and Navya of class XII won the First
prize for Best Photographs while Nimesh of class XI bagged the
Second and Pranshul of class XII received the Third prize. Kudos to
the winners!
Special Assembly on Smog (III-V Wing)
A special assembly was organised in the school on 10 November 2017 made the
students aware about smog & pollution its cause and remedies. Students
exuberantly prepared placards to share preventions to protect us and our mother
earth.
Award Ceremony
K.L. International School organised the Award Ceremony.
K.L. International School organised a grand Award Ceremony for all
the Inter-House and Inter-School competitions which were held
between July & October. Winners of various Inter-House
Competitions and tournaments like Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton,
Basketball, etc. were awarded with medals and appreciation
certificates.
Along with this, students who participated in Inter-School
Competitions and bagged the first and second positions making
school proud were also felicitated.
The programme was inaugurated by honourable Vice-Chairman Mr.
Tejinder Khurana and Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar by lighting
of the lamp followed by showing the glimpses of Indian and French
culture in the form of Bharatnatyam, French dance and Spanish
dance which made everyone spellbound. Thereafter winners were
honoured.
Techno Quiz (I-II Wing)
As of November 07, 2017 K. L. International School organised
‘Inter-House Techno Quiz’ for the students of classes I and II.
There were four teams, each team had two participants: one from
class I and other from class II. The quiz had four crucial rounds
based on technology and their computer syllabus. The rounds were
general round, visual round and puzzle round. Yellow house bagged
the first position, Red house stood Second & Green house stood
Third.
Physics and Nobel Prize Quiz
With immense pride and gratification, we would like to share that
Kanishk Goel (XII-D) bagged first position and won a cash prize of `
2100/- and Shivank Maheshwari (XI-A) secured III Position and
received the cash prize of ` 1100/- in Physics and Nobel Prize Quiz 2017
held at Shobhit University on 07 November 2017. It was a written Quiz
Competition in which about 130 students participated.
A CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION ON THE MERCHANT NAVY
Applied Research International Pvt. Ltd. (ARI) organised a workshop for the science stream students of classes XI & XII on 07
November 2017 in the school auditorium.
The merchant navy was put forth as an excellent career option
after 10 + 2 by pursuing BSc. in Nautical Sciences. The
resource person threw light on the attractions of the career that
is the backbone of global trade. It offers a handsome salary, a
secure career path, a responsible and respectable job and the
opportunity to gain international exposure.
Eligibility criteria of DNS (Diploma/Degree in Nautical
Sciences) were explained vividly with a video and PowerPoint
presentation.
Our alumnus Kartik Sharma was also face to face with the
students sharing his experience as a student of ARI. He
highlighted the pleasures and privileges of the merchant navy
as a career.
Overall it was an informative session which left the students
equipped with the knowledge of this fabulous career.
Skating CBSE Nationals
In the CBSE West Zone Skati ng Championship 2017, held at IES
Public School, Bhopal (M.P.) for West Zone including Ajmer region,
Pranav Gupta (X-A) did the school proud by winning Gold medal in
300 m race time trial (Under 16), a Silver medal in 1000 m race time trial
(Under -16).
Speed-O-Spell (III-V Wing)
To motivate students to take keen interest to enhance their word
power an activity „Speed O‟ Spell‟ was designed & organised for
the students of classes III-V. In this students were given some
letters to create words using them. All students participated
enthusiastically.
Inter School Quiz Competition- “Quiz Whiz-2017”
The school exhilarates with pride as three of its students
namely Vipul Tyagi, Maulik Goel and Vilas Tyagi have
brought laurels to school by winning the 7 Inter school Quiz
Competition- “Quiz Whiz-2017” competing with around 800
students from 350 reputed schools of Delhi & NCR region.
Taking lead from very beginning our team exhibiting
stupendous performance secured place among best 8 teams
and finally emerged out as winners bagging a cheque worth
51000/-, trophies and certificates. The Grand Finale of the
event was held on 3 November 2017 at ITS Mohan Nagar,
Ghaziabad. The school management & Principal
congratulated the winners for their glorifying performance.
Bharat Ko Jaano ‘General Knowledge State Level Quiz Competition’ Bharat Ko Jaano ‘General Knowledge State Level Quiz
Competition’ was organised on 05 November 2017 by
Bharat Vikas Parishad. The competition had two rounds in
which 28 teams participated. Kudos to our champions:
Sparsh (VIII-G) and Uday Pratap Singh (VIII-C) who
exhibited their brilliance and bagged the First & Second
position respectively. Top eight teams reached to the Final
Level. Our team qualified for Regional Level Competition to
be held on 12 November 2017. We wish them success for the
upcoming event.
Genesis 2017 an Inter Institutional Feast
Genesis 2017 an Inter Institutional Feast was conducted on 2 November 2017. Around 120 schools participated in knock down, Biopost, Biosplash, Sciquiz and Instathink activities. Our brilliant and zealous participation brought back many laurels for the school. Shristi Tyagi bagged the First prize in Power Point Presentation leaving behind many prestigious schools of the city and around. K. L. I. team did exceptionally well and stood first in the Sciquiz, last but not the least the model presented by our students won the second prize receiving great appreciation by all.
T-Shirt painting competition
The ever energetic students of Sankalp Club joined the National Awareness Campaign to save the Indian rivers i.e. Rally For Rivers by painting T-Shirts and spreading the message vividly through visuals and slogans on 1 November 2017. Chief Guest Mr. Pintu Mishra, Principal & Dean, Fine Arts and Fashion Designing, Subharti University, along with the school’s Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar painted T-Shirt and motivated the students to further their cause with great enthusiasm. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ one of the enlisted programmes given by CBSE was organised in K. L. International School on 31 October 2017, on the occasion of Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel’s birthday as ‘Ekta Diwas’. In this programme, students of classes VI – VIII presented amazing folk dances of various states. Everyone got mesmerised with the presentation of melodious song ‘Hum Sab Bhartiya Hain’ and by the way, one of our students threw light on the glorious life of Sardar Patel. At the end, students took an oath to maintain the unity of India and winners of different events were honoured. Ms. Reetul Arora, (coordinator VI-VIII wing) enlightened the students by telling them about the rich Indian culture and asked them to love and respect their country above all.
Vigilance Awareness Week The school observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 30 October 2017 to 4 November 2017 on the theme ‘My Vision - Corruption Free India’ to enhance awareness on how to fight against corruption at all times
and at all places. During the vigilance week, a number of activities were organised starting from Integrity pledge administered in the presence of two Govt. dignitaries EPFO, Asst. Commissioner Mr. K. K. Sharma and EO (enforcement officer) Mr. S. K. Taneja. This was followed by a Poster Colouring Competition for the students of classes III – V on the topic ‘Corruption Free India’. The students took part with great enthusiasm. The posters were displayed in the school for the students to view and enhance their awareness. The first three winners were felicitated namely Riya Gupta of class V-A, Riya Nagar of class V-B and
Chirag Bhadana of class V-A. Students of classes VI–VIII presented stories on the topic “How Can Value education contribute in controlling corruption. The three best story tellers: Akshita Singh Class VII-I, Naman Class VIII-C, Utkarsh Singhal Class VIII-J were felicitated for their efforts to educate the students about how they can combat corruption. Culminating the ceremony, Mr. S. Shekhar, Principal suggested the students about how one can help to redress corruption. State Level Singing Competition Final Round Bharat Vikas Parishad, organised State Level Singing Competition on 29 October 2017 in Lucknow. This competition has three levels, in which K.L.I bagged First position in first and second levels. Our team secured Second position in the final round. About 90 students from different cities like Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lakhimpur, Lucknow and Jhansi etc. participated in the competition. Our students made us proud by showing the magic of their melodious voices and by securing second position in the final level. They received medals and words of appreciation from Shri. Ram Naik, Governor of U.P. The Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar applauded the enthusiastic efforts of the students.
Inter school Sanskrit Debate Competition
An Inter School Sanskrit Vaad-Vivaad Pratiyogita was organised at C.C.S. University in ‘Vyas Samaroh’ on 23 October 2017. Many reputed school of Meerut participated in the event. A team of our students staged a skit on ‘Conservation of Environment’ which won many accolades. Another team of debaters comprised of Ikra Naseem (IX-I), who secured the first position by putting forth her views on the topic from Vishnu Purana “Jo Kisi Ka Bura Nahin Karte, Unka Kabhi Bura Nahin Hota” and Ishita Singh Faujdar (IX-I) who grabbed the second prize and thus K. L. International School was declared, the overall champion of the event.

9th Sanshinkan Open Karate Championship 2017
Once again a sweeping victory is recorded by our Karate Champions when they bagged 4 Gold, 8 Silver and 4 Bronze medals in the 9th Sanshinkan Open karate Championship 2017 at Talkatora Indoor Stad ium, Delhi on 21 October 2017. Our Karate team comprised of students from classes I to VIII and they exhibited extra ordinary talent by competing among 900 other participants from 16 states of our country bringing back laurels to the school. Budding Scientist
It is rightly said “Today’s Science is tomorrow’s technology”. Army Public School, Meerut, worked on these lines and put up an exhibition themed ‘Budding Scientists’ an Inter School Competition at Army Public School, on 16 October 2017. The exhibits spanned all the three branches of Science-i.e, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students of classes 9 & 10 from various schools portrayed various advancements in the field of science and showcased their scientific fervour in many ways which could be related with everyday life. Our school team exhibited the models on ‘Smart City’ and ‘Harnessing Energy’. These projects were the centre of attraction and earned great accolades. Flower Pot Decoration Activity (III- V Wing) Diwali, the festival of light was celebrated with pomp and show in the school on 14 October 2017. Students of classes III-V took part in a Flower Pot Decoration Activity and cultural programme with great enthusiasm. Little hearts tried their best to deliver best message for celebrating “Eco- Friendly-Diwali” through Nukkar Natak. The Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, appreciated students for their enthusiasm , creativity and willingness to keep their surroundings clean & pollution free. He told the real meaning & importance of Diwali & wished them a happy and safe Diwali. Candle Decoration Competition (VI-VII Wing)
Diwali was celebrated with much fanfare, devotion and excitement on 14 October 2017. Candle Decoration Competition was organised for the students of classes VI to VIII to mark the occasion. The students decorated the candles using pearls, ribbons, g litters etc. Their efforts were lauded by everyone for the sheer spread of beauty all around. All the students enthusiastically displayed their creativity in the candle decoration. Candles displayed were of different shapes and sizes-ranging from small diya shaped to floral, floating, dome shape and even some were decorated with bows and frills made of wax. At last, the principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, appreciated this endeavour of the students and encourage them to celebrate Green Diwali.
Special Assembly for Diwali ( I-II Wing )
Special Assembly for Diwali was held in Wing I-II. It was
proceeded by a beautiful Diwali Dance Performance, a speech
on why and how to celebrate Diwali following which a message
was given on clean and pollution free Diwali by saying no to
crackers, lighting the house with diyas.
Later, Paper Rangoli Making Activity was conducted in class,
where students participated with full enthusiasm showing their
talent. Best rangoli from each section was awarded a certificate.
Medals for Inter-Section Skating Competition were also awarded
to the winners.
Diwali Celebration (KG Wing)
On the occasion of Deepawali, a cultural programme was organised in KG wing of K.L. International School on 13 October, in which students performed amazingly with great spirit and passed a message to celebrate pollution free Deepawali. Tiny ones in colourful dress, participated with great enthusiasm in the ‘Candle Decoration Competition’ and amazed everyone with their creativity. The principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar appreciated their efforts and encouraged them with praising words.
A workshop on ‘Traffic Rules and Road Safety’ was organised in K.L. International School on 06 October 2017. The resource person, Mr. Amit Tiwari (R.T.O) intimated the students of traffic rules and road safety. He asked them to wear helmet while driving a two wheeler and use the seat belt while driving four-wheeler vehicle. He described other important points with the help of signs and symbols. The Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, welcomed Mr. Amit Tiwari and applauded his endeavour of enlightenment.
Gandhi Jayanti (IX-X Wing)
The school celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with zeal by organising a special assembly on 06 October 2017. The students of classes IX – X staged a skit depicting the teachings of Gandhiji and they also took oath to follow and spread his teachings and to actively participate in the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. The whole auditorium resonated with the slogans coined by Gandhiji.
Rally for Rivers Quiz
The ever enterprising students of K.L International enthusiastically participated in a Quiz based on ‘Rally for Rivers’ on 4 October 2017. The students of VI to VIII wing were administered an oath to preserve and conserve the rivers. An informative documentary was also screened for the students, which was followed by a Creative Writing Competition on ‘Save Rivers Save Nation’. All students participated zealously. Dussehra (KG Wing)
Students of KG Wing celebrated Dussehra in school with great enthusiasm and energy. The tiny tots enacted scenes from the epic Ramayana. The effigy of Ravana was also burnt to depict the victory of good over evil. Students got motivated and they were inspired by Ramlila which was performed by students. They all learnt how to give up bad habits and love everyone.
Workshop for the teachers on “Child Safety” K. L. International School organised a workshop for the teachers on “Child Safety” on 22 September 2017 The main speakers were the Director of the ‘Janhit Foundation’ Ms. Anita Rana, Mrs. Poonam Devdutt an eminent counsellor and a renowned criminal lawyer Mr. Sandeep Singh. In the workshop, Ms. Anita Rana shared that her organisation helps orphan and poor children, the organization provides them education and takes care of their health related issues, along with that they work towards the women empowerment. The famous counsellor Ms. Poonam Devdutt emphasized that the school should provide the awareness of good touch and bad touch amongst the students. We should also make the students understand the different behaviours of human and create a comfortable environment for them that they can trust their teachers and share their feelings and experiences easily. Advocate Sandeep Singh provided the information about the law and rights which can be utilised at the time of child molestation. The Vice Chairman, Mr. Tajender Khurana and the Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, showed their gratitude by felicitating them with bouquet. Our Principal also shared his views on child safety and added on with the important thoughts that the students must get the safe and comfortable environment not only in school but it should be extended to the public places, home and society.
CBSE North Zone-I Judo Championship 2017-18 (Under-11) In the CBSE North Zone-I Judo Championship 2017-18 (Under-11), held at Shambhu Dayal Global School,
Ghaziabad, from 22 to 25 September 2017. Our students came out with flying colours by winning the Overall Winner Trophy for the school. They also grabbed 11 medals in this competition. Anushka, Vanshika bagged 2 Gold, Gauri, Tanya, Vyom and Yashvardhan won 4 Silver medal while Aman, Palak, Rashi, Ambika & Harshita got 5 Bronze medals and made us proud. Six of our students are selected for CBSE National Judo Championship 2017-18 to be held from 08 to 12 November 2017 in Telangana. The management applauded the winners for their excellent & energetic performance and wished them all the best for the future events.
Gandhi Jayanti (VI-VIII Wing) In the commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, the students of classes VI – VIII presented the exemplary values and principles of Gandhiji by their phenomenal activities. Students of classes VI to VIII initiated the ceremony with Gandhiji’s favourite bhajans “Vaishnav Jan…..” and “Ramdhun” followed by the short enactment based on Bapu’s inspirational experiences. Students through their embellish performances gave message to embrace the path of truth and importance of time. The tender buds of the school presented the importance of cleanliness in our life by their impressive enactment and inspired the audience.
Hindi Week Hindi Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school premises between 14 September and 28
September 2017. This initiative was taken up to generate a lot of interest amongst the students for Hindi language. The programme commenced with a knowledgeable session in which the teachers of Hindi Department shared interesting information about the national language and motivated them to create their own stories and poems. Students from classes I to X demonstrated their prowess and competence in the language and actively participated in different activities like book reviews, quiz show, poetry competition, solve the puzzles, skit and slide show based on general interesting facts about the Hindi language. The event culminated with a special assembly in which students recited
Hanuman Chalisa which regaled each and every one present in the auditorium. Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar the school Principal, praised the efforts put in by the Hindi department and motivated the students to take pride in their language and culture. Gandhi Jayanti (I-V Wing) Toddlers of classes I-V observed Gandhi Jayanti on 27 September 2017 in which a number of creative activities were conducted. Students of classes I and II paid tribute by copying the famous sayings of the ‘Father of The Nation’ on paper in beautiful handwriting. Penmanship Activity was organised for the students of classes III-V to spread Mahatma Gandhiji’s messages and encourage them to live in harmony with others.
Teacher’s Day
K. L. International School celebrated Teacher’s Day on the theme ‘Tanitta’ representing the beautiful glimpse of Southern India. On 5 September 2017, students of K. L. International School celebrated Teacher’s Day with full vigour. The central theme of this programme was ‘Southern India’ and the decoration, attire, presentation of the programme was in accordance to the theme ‘Tanitta’. The programme was inaugurated by honourable Chairman Mr. Tejinder Khurana, Director Mr. Manmeet Khurama and Principal, Mr.
Sudhanshu Shekhar by lighting up the lamp in order to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishnan and goddess Saraswati. A hearty welcome was accorded to the teachers by students, thereafter; students presented a variety of musical and dance performances showcasing the beauty of southern India. Students presented a dance play which highlighted the southern India’s art, literature, science, entertainment, politics etc and the students enacted the famous personalities belonging to the above mentioned sectors. At last Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar applauded the efforts of the students. He motivated the students by telling that family is the primary school and mother is the first teacher, but for the all-round development of a student school is the key element. And we should always respect our teachers.
4th Inter-School Karate Championship 2017
With immense pride and gratification we would like to share that our students won 12 Gold, 13 Silver and 16 Bronze medals in the 4th Inter School Karate Championship 2017 held on 3rd September 2017. Altogether 96 students from various reputed schools of Meerut participated in the competition. Our students made us proud by showing their exuberant & energetic performance.
Debate Competition Organised By Lion’s Club
Extra ordinary debating skills of our students made us proud once again. A debate organised by Lion’s Club on the topic “Bhrashtachar Ka Samadhan Sarkari Kanuno Se Nahi Varan Janjagriti Dwara Hi Sambhav hai” at IMA Hall at Bachcha Park on 3 September 2017. In this debate 16 schools participated in which our excellent debaters Anshika Agarwal of class XI bagged the First position by giving tough competition to the rivals in the support of the motion and Falit of class X grabbed the Second position battling sharp attacks of the support of the topic with his outstanding and amazing debating skills. Our
students brought laurel to school by winning the Rolling Trophy. The Principal, Mr. S. Shekhar congratulated the winner for their performance. He felicitated them with medals, certificates and the trophy in the Assembly. Science Exhibition K. L. International School organised a Science Exhibition at their sprawling school premise. The students of classes III – XII showcased their working models on the different concepts of science in the exhibition. The students displayed self-made models of vacuum cleaner, solar panel, rain water harvesting, Hi-tech security, Hi-tech classrooms, eco- minions based on the principle of Hydraulic pressure, multiple reflection, potential difference and condensation etc. The students received accolades by the parents for the projects and models which they displayed in the science exhibition.
ROBOFEST 2017-18
The budding Edisons of KLI once again proved their mettle by winning the First prize in the ROBOFEST 2017-18 conducted by IIMT Academy, Meerut on 29 & 30 August 2017. Competing with 12 other reputed schools of the city the team KLI namely Suryansh Chauhan, Parv Singhal & Rudraksh Sharma of classes VI – VIII kept an edge over the other teams maintaining a lead throughout the competition The fest proved to be a good platform to enrich & enhance Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics of our children.
Sanskrit Diwas In order to popularise and stimulate interest in Sanskrit language, the ‘Sanskrit Diwas’ was celebrated in the school on 29 August 2017. The program began with the melodious chanting of hymns in Sanskrit followed by a shloka recitation competition for the students of class VI. The young students of class VII enthralled the audience by a beautiful song. Students of class VIII staged a skit on conservation of environment stressing on the importance of planting trees. The perfectly anchored program ended with a speech by the honourable chief guest Dr. Vachaspati Mishra, HOD Sanskrit Deptt. Meerut College, Meerut, who talked about importance of Sanskrit in today’s modern world. Swine Flu Rally
On 29 August 2017, a rally was conducted by the students of classes III-V to spread awareness about Swine Flu. During this rally students moved on the roads of Somdutt Vihar. Students tried their best to make the public understand the importance of cleanliness and how by keeping ourselves and our surroundings clean, we can remain away from diseases. Students distributed clinical masks and pamphlets with a motto to stay healthy.
The Young Tycoons Club (Commerce) conducted their club activity „An Insight to GST‟ on 28 August 2017
in the school auditorium. The club members through a very entertaining street play & PPT made aware the
audience about the complexities of GST. The students were very vividly able to convey GST‟s impact on
market and society and also how it is actually beneficial for our economy in future. Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra,
Deputy Director GST (Intelligence) presided over the function as Chief Guest. He also gave an insight to the
topic by his presentation. The satisfied look on the children‟s faces clearly indicated that the function was a
huge success.
Inter State Shotokan Karate On 27 August 2017, KLI students showed an exuberant performance and great spirit in an Inter State Shotokan Karate organised by Self Defence Academy Shotokan Karate Association of India. Our students exhibited their brilliance and brought trophy to the school by giving tough competition to the students of other school with their whole hearted efforts they won 8 Gold, 6 Silver and 11 Bronze medals to the school. Sophian-Tech Fiesta 2017-18
Another feather added to the cap of our esteemed school as our ever enthusiastic and zealous students emerged as winners by bagging the ‘Winner’s Trophy’ in the Sophian-Tech Fiesta 2017-18 on 23 August 2017 leaving behind 13 other prestigious schools that participated in the fest. Our students won the First prize in E-Page designing and also bagged the Runners-up Trophy in the E-Brains category. The participation of our students in E-Collegium, E- Presentation & E-Placard designing was also commendable.
Quiz Whiz- an Inter School Quiz Competition 2017 KLI believes in exploring various avenues of talent and creativity amongst the students. To provide platform to the prodigies of classes XI & XII, preliminary round of Quiz Whiz- an Inter School Quiz Competition 2017 was organised by ITS – Institute of Technology and Science on 21 August 2017 in the School Auditorium. Vilas Tyagi of class XI- C secured the first position while Kwanit of class XI-C and Maulik of class XII-F achieved second and third positions respectively. The three winners have also been qualified for the final round, to be held on 3 November 2017 at ITS Ghaziabad.
Inter House Debate competition
The school has set the benchmark for conducting activities in such a way that the students not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from it. Going by the perspective, the school organised an Inter House Debate competition for the students of classes IX – XII on 21 August 2017 in the School Auditorium. The representatives of each house spoke vehemently and cited reasons and supported them with suitable examples from real life to justify their stand. The judge for the event, Dr. Neelam Sharma (HOD, English Deptt, Meerut College, Meerut) was deeply impressed by the ideas/views of the students. Pragati House was
adjudged as the first while Prerna House as the second position holder. Inter House Aerobics competition Inter House Aerobics competition for Middle School was organized on 17 August 2017. All four houses together put a great show after a lot of hard work and practice. Aerobics competition was a test of strength, creativity and teamwork and all the participants rose to the occasion in a wonderful manner. While the performances of all the houses were a delight to watch, it was the Pragati House that stood first with an orchestra like performance where all the elements blended together beautifully. Prayas House and Prerna Independence Day Celebration
On 15 August 2017, K. L. International School celebrated Independence Day with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion. The Indian tricolour was unfurled and hoisted by the Principal, in the school field followed by National Anthem. An air of patriotic fervour permeated the atmosphere after the beautiful rendition of ‘Hum Sab Bhartiya Hain’. Students of classes III-V celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna by a heart touching dance. School Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, reiterated the importance of education and role of teachers in moulding the young minds. The programme was culminated by singing of Vande Mataram by everybody present.
Independence Day & Janmashtami Celebration of I - II Wing With Freedom in mind, faith in words and pride in hearts… We salute to the nation on the auspicious Independence Day which was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect along with ‘Janmashtami’ the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna on 14 August 2017. The combined celebration comprised of a patriotic song, followed by a dance performance. Students in their colourful attire portrayed different stages of Lord Krishna’s life through dance and drama. The whole school was decorated with beautiful streamers of the tricolour.
„Voice of Bard’ On 12 August 2017, KLI students showed an amazing and great spirit in a competition ‘Voice of Bard’ at
Gargi Girls’ School. Altogether 10 schools participated in this competition. There were three categories for students to perform. Medhansh, one of the students of class IV-H showed his innate talent by giving life to the words of the greatest English dramatist ‘Shakespeare’. He magnified the event and brought laurels to school by bagging the first position in monologue. Yash Verma of class VI was declared the best orator for his eloquence, he exhibited as a narrator. Our team of six dancers secured the Third position in Ballet competition performed on the sonnet -145 of Shakespeare.
Inter School Sanskrit Speech, Poem Recitation and Shlok Recitation Competition Our proficient Sanskrit scholars participated in an Inter School Sanskrit Speech, Poem Recitation and Shlok Recitation Competition held at Smt. Kamla Devi Agarwal Public School, Hapur on 10 August 2017. Our students emerged as winners grabbing the First position in Speech Competition and the Third position in Poem Recitation Competition respectively. The outstanding scholars have added another feather to our school cap. Heartiest congratulations to the winners!
Inter-house Debate Competition
For good ideas and true innovations you need human interaction, conflict, argument and debate. An Inter-house Debate Competition was organised in the school auditorium on 06 August, 2017 by the Chanakya Club. The students of classes VI to VIII participated with full enthusiasm and expressed their views in favour and against the GST (Goods and Services Tax). A presentation was also given by the club members on comparative study of Human Resource Development between India and Japan. The event turned out to be a huge success.
Workshop on “Career Prospects in Psychology and Human Behaviour” Our students got an opportunity to attend a workshop organised in NAS P.G. College on 4 August 2017 by Shobhit University on the topic “CAREER PROSPECTS IN PSYCHOLOGY AND HUMAN BEHAVIOUR”. The resource person was Dr. Poonam Devdutt, who enlightened the students about the emerging career prospects in the field of Psychology. Many schools of the city attended it and it proved to be a very fruitful workshop. Fortis Annual National Psychology Quiz
Three students of our school participated in the Fortis Annual National Psychology Quiz ‘Psych-Ed’ on 4 August 2017 and were successful in clearing the first round, which saw a participation of 231 schools from 49 cities in India. We look forward to reach the grand finale which is to be held on 1 September 2017 at Fortis Memorial Research Institute Gurgaon. Besides being a very competitive event, candidates also learnt a lot about such an emerging career option.
Raksha Bandhan The auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in our school consecutively on two days. On 4 August 2017, it was celebrated by classes Nursery to UKG and on 5 August 2017, by classes I – V. It was the day when young artisans participated in Rakhi Making Competition, the day was over flowing with creativity and colours- Red, Yellow and Cyan mixing in the love and bonding between brothers and sisters. They made creative and fascinating designs by using thread, beads, lace, ribbons etc. It was indeed a very difficult task to judge the winners from each class. Raksha Parv By Danik Jagran
Every year in order to pay tribute to the tremendous efforts of our Indian Armed Forces, the students of K. L. International School tie Rakhi on the wrist of the soldiers admitted in military hospital. This is a little step taken to convey our gratitude to the soldiers who risk their lives in order to keep us safe. This year also the students of classes VII and VIII along with two escort teachers visited the Military Hospital, Meerut on 26 July 2017 to celebrate ‘Raksha Parv’ organised by Dainik Jagran.
Etiquette Week Etiquette Week- was observed from 10 July to 14 July 2017 in the I-V Wing. The first day, the students were made aware and were motivated to follow good habits, respect elders, follow table manners and decorum in school. The second day activities stressed on the importance of cleanliness . In accordance, a movie show was also organised in the school. The third day was dedicated to teaching table manners to the students. On the fourth day, prizes were given to the cleanest class under the “Mission Clean Classroom Activity’. The week got culminated by various games and fun activities conducted for the I-V students.
French Day Celebrations
The environs of K. L International School were reverberating with the festivities of the “French Day Celebrations” held on 14 July 2017. A special programme was organised to mark the occasion. ADMF Meerut city, Mr. Gaurav Verma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The cultural programme like French skit, folk dances etc provided an insight to the culture and traditions of France. The enthusiasm was further raised by an aerobic performance and French parade. The programme certainly proved out to be a day to cherish forever.
Inter House Singing Competition ‘SWARANJALI’ ‘Music binds soul, heart and emotions.’ It is a known fact that music is the best method of relaxation. Going by these thoughts, an Inter House Singing Competition ‘SWARANJALI’ was organised on 13 July 2017 for the senior wing of the school. The participants from classes IX- XII put forth their enthralling performances in Solo and Duet categories. The competition was judged by Dr. Ragini Pratap Principal, Kanohar Lal Degree College, Meerut. All our young maestros came up with melodious voice exhibiting their skills of singing following the right sur, rhythm and scales. All the houses competed well to win but Prakash and Prayas houses secured first position, Prerna and Pragati houses bagged the second and third prizes respectively. Hindi Recitation Competition
The K. L. Auditorium was reverberating with Hindi Poems related to family (Parivar) or friendship (Mitrata) on 12 July 2017 as the stage was set ablaze by the students of Kindergarten Wing in the final round of Hindi Recitation Competition. Best three entries from each category were awarded.
Liberal Indian Model United Nations Conference Liberal Indian Model United Nations Conference was hosted by Mt. Litera Zee School from 10 to 12 July 2017. It comprised of four highly competitive committees. The committees inspired children to learn and understand the conflicts and issues in our country and in the world, like ‘Violation of Human Rights in South Sudan and Middle East’, ‘Religions above Law’ and ‘The Freedom to Develop Nuclear armaments’ etc. Our students exhibited their extra ordinary talent and bagged the ‘Best Delegation Award’ along with many other eminent certificates. A special assembly was conducted on 29 May 2017 to felicitate students from Class XII (Science, Commerce and Humanities streams) for their stupendous academic performance in the session 2016-17 in the board examinations. They were honoured by presenting bouquets for their awe inspiring performance. Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, congratulated the students and said: “It’s just the beginning; you have to reach the pinnacle of success.”

Motivation Workshop by Mr Vikram, Heritageshaala Learning is a lifelong process. In order to enrich our teachers and equip them with better teaching tools an educative workshop was conducted in the school auditorium on 25 May, 2017. The resource person Mr.
VikramJit Singh Rooprai is an active member of Youth for India Foundation. The workshop was conducted in two parts, first there was an interactive session with the students and it was followed by a workshop for teachers. The students were enlightened about various techniques of making their studies more fruitful and interesting. He emphasised on integration of learning for getting optimum results. In second phase of the workshop, Mr.Rooprai interacted with the teachers and shared interesting facts form history and also told the teachers how their teaching could affect the students and what techniques they should incorporate to make their teaching
more effective and integrated specially in subjects like History, Geography and Civics. He stressed on the Three ‘R’s of teaching learning i.e. Reasoning, Relevance and Rhythm. He also asked the teachers to apply logic to their teaching in order to make their teaching more logical and practical. Lastly he summed up by saying that our history has numerous examples of great leadership and management skills and we should benefit ourselves from that rich heritage. The enlightening and eye opening workshop proved to be a great learning experience for our teachers. Metamorphosis – An inter school competition To prove that mettle outside the boundaries of school, our 13 students participated in Metamorphosis – an inter school competition held at MPGS on 17 May 2017. Mahip Singh (IV-G) and Suhani Jain (IV-G) secured the second position in Card Making Competition. Harsh Verma (X-G) bagged the second prize in Poster making Competition. Kudos to the winners! Mothers’ Day KG Wing
A soulful tribute was paid to all the amazing moms of Nursery to UKG classes, through a scintillating program organised by the school on the occasion of Mothers’ Day on 13 May 2017 in the kindergarten premises. The wonder moms participated in various creative competitions along with their wards and displayed the excellent bonding & teamwork by painting the canvas perfectly depicting the scene of nature and their child’s dream. Tiny cherubs enthralled their mothers by a foot tapping dance performance.
The event was a great success.
‘The Arthashastra Quiz 2017’ In order to keep pace with current challenges of the world economy, 15 students from our school participated in ‘The Arthashastra Quiz 2017’- an international online Economics Quiz on 12 May 2017. A digital participation certification will be awarded to the students. The school eagerly awaits the results as the top 100 scorers of the quiz will qualify for the stage–II. On the fine morning of 12 May 2017, deserving young talents of our School were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their School from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence. The Investiture Ceremony thus marked the inaugural of the senior Students’ Council for the academic session 2017-18. The event was presided over by the Director of our school, Mr. Manmeet Khurana and Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, Principal. It was conducted with the high degree of earnestness and passion.
An energetic and message- filled song sung by the school choir ‘Together we
can change the World’ enthralled everyone. This was followed by a touching enactment of a dance drama, “Female foeticide” by students of classes VII and VIII. The ceremony was held with lots of zeal and zest. Marching smartly, attired in Grey & House uniform, the Students’ Council, took their positions on the stage eager to take on the new responsibilities that they were going to be entrusted with.
Council members; the Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice- Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, Asst. Head Boy, Asst. Head Girl, Sports Captains, Cultural Heads and each of the House Captains and Vice House Captains were conferred with the sashes and badges by the Chief Guest, Mr. Manmeet Khurana, Director of the school. The Students’ Council took the pledge to hold the school motto of ‘Knowledge, Discipline, Character’ in high esteem.
Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, Principal, congratulated them and instructed them to be impartial and honest while discharging their duties. He also exhorted them to uphold the values. He reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve heights. The function concluded with the National Anthem.
Birth Anniversary of Dr. Rabindra Nath Tagore The Literary Club, ‘Ponder Arena’ celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Rabindra Nath Tagore through a special program “Commemorating Gurudev”. The program was organised in the auditorium on 8 May 2017. That was initiated by a Tagore’s song followed by a traditional dance on this song. A play by Tagore was staged to remember his literary geniuses. A small poetry recitation competition was also organised wherein students of classes III-V wing recited various poems written by Gurudev. The entire programme was just a journey down the lane commemorating the great literary legend & noble laureate Shri Rabindra Nath Tagore. The Programme was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest Dr. Bonani Mishra, HOD, English Deptt. R.G.P.G. College, Meerut. Earth Day To celebrate the occasion of Earth Day, a Special Assembly was conducted in the school premises by I-II and VI-VIII wings separately on 22 April, 2017. The students were made aware about the importance of the day and also the need to conserve and preserve our Mother Earth. The programme was initiated by a short prayer and an array of programmes followed which vividly and lucidly conveyed the message to the students. Important issues like planting trees and saving water, electricity, paper etc. were brought about in a very interesting way in front of the students. The assembly concluded with the thought provoking speech by Principal, Mr. S.Shekhar, enlightening the students on the necessity of saving our mother earth. The zeal of the students for the cause was well reflected in the enthusiasm showcased in an awareness rally they conducted in the school corridors. Investiture Ceremony Junior Wing
Investiture Ceremony was arranged at a grand level in the Junior Wing of K. L. international School on 22 April 2017. The program was started with the floral welcome of the chief guest, Mr. K. S. Lamba (Chairman, K. L. International School) guest of honour Mrs.Lamba & Mr. S. K. Bharti. The Rajasthani folk dance attracted the attention of all present there, it was followed by a mime based on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and a few other inspirational performances. Students received badges post the march-past. They were administered the oath to remain sincere towards their duties. On this occasion, Mr. K. S. Lamba and Mr. S. K. Bharti enriched the students with their inspiring, valuable & precious words. Principal, Mr. S.Shekhar, expressed his gratitude to the chief guests in his vote of thanks. The Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the K G Wing on 21 April 2017. The tiny blossoms of class Nursery explored the school campus by touring the lawns and ground of the school enjoying a “Nature Walk”. Students of LKG and UKG participated in the Paper Bag Making Competition. All the students of the wing made beautiful head gears and wore them the whole day to exhibit their high spirits for the cause.
“Cycle for Green Path” A rally “Cycle for Green Path” to spread awareness for protection of environment among masses was arranged on 21 April 2017 for the students of classes VII & VIII in K. L. International School. Braving the sweltering heat of the summer, their enthusiasm was soaring high with the uncomparable stamina clutched in their fists during the rally and showed their love for their environment. The rally was flagged off from the school gate and covered the vicinity around the school. During this rally, students carried posters, placards containing slogans to create and spread the awareness to save our environment. Teachers also participated in this rally to encourage the students.
Workshop on non-conventional career options – an initiative taken by Times Group Students from all streams of class XII were given a special opportunity to participate in a workshop
organised by Times of India at K L International School on 18 April 2017 in the school auditorium. Mr. Love Jain, an eminent counsellor conducted the workshop. The session proved to be very interesting and engrossing wherein the students enjoyed the valuable guidance provided by the resource person. He instigated students to identify their interest and aptitude before actually deciding their career and pursuing any particular option. He apprised students of many off-beat career options like culinary, D J’ing, entrepreneurship, designing of jewellery, shoes , dress, interior, automobile, fashion, web etc. He told about some choices like Journalism for film making and mass
communication for advertising, broadcasting etc., insurance, publishing, Actuarial science, banking, civil services and many more besides the conventional career options. While summing up the session Mr. Jain advised students to be careful with their aspirations that needs to in line with interest and must gel with social behaviour. Meerut Distt. Karate Championship 2017 On 16 April 2017, our students from classes 1 to 10 participated in the second round of Meerut Distt. Karate Championship 2017, held at The Aaryan School, Kanker Khera, Meerut. In this competition 100 students from various schools of Meerut participated. It was a tough competition among 100 students in which our representatives showcased their efforts & command over rule of Karate and returned after winning 14 Gold, 11 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. Winners were selected for UP State Karate Championship to be held in Lucknow on 24 to 26 April 2017. We hope their hard work, determination and karate skills will add vibrant colours in this championship. Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar celebrated in a special Assembly
The III-V Wing celebrated the birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in a special Assembly on 13 April 2017. The students were enlightened about the life of Dr. Ambedkar, highlighting the struggle and persevering efforts that he had made to beat the odds in his life. The Special Assembly began with a floral tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait followed by sharing of his ideology and his great efforts in formulation of the Indian constitution with the students. At the end of the assembly, the students were filled with a sense of gratitude and admiration for such a noble soul.
An awareness campaign on depression On 10 April 2017, an awareness campaign ondepression was organised by Neuropsychiatry Deptt. Of Anand Hospital. In this interactive session, schools of Meerut were invited to participate. Dr. Samyak Jain and Dr. Ritu Kela were the eminent speakers of the campaign. They shared the technicalities, causes & cures of depression. They made the concepts more clear with the help of various activities & brainstorming sessions. Both the doctors enlightened the students with the simple method to stay away from depression. The event also included ‘Speech Competition and Poster Making Competition’. We are glad to inform that K. L. International students Nishant Singh, Vedanshi Kela and Aastha Bansal grabbed all the three positions in Speech Competition and Aanchal Rana bagged the first position in Poster Making Competition. Overall, this session was very fruitful and a good source of learning for students. Inter House Chess Competition To adorn the logical thinking and decision making among students, K. L. International School organised the first round of audition of chess among the students of different houses of school on 11 April 2017, the students of the four houses of K. L. International School participated in the first round of audition for the game of chess. They displayed an amazing performance and Great Spirit while playing chess. All the participants enjoyed the first round of audition and proudly represented their house. We wish them ‘Best of Luck’ for the upcoming rounds.
Sanshin District Karate Championship With immense pride and gratification, we would like to share that our students showcased the
extraordinary performance in Sanshin District Karate Championship held on 9 April 2017 at Community Hall, Mangal Pandey Nagar. There was a tough and neck to neck competition amongst 150 students from 10 reputed schools of Meerut. KLI students put up a wholesome beautiful show exhibiting immense enthusiasm and outshone the other participants. They bagged 16 Gold, 11 Silver and 14 Bronze medals. Altogether 34 students from our school were selected for the next level, which is going to be held on 16 April 2017 at The Aryans School, Meerut.
New Session Class Nursery Students New session of class nursery students was started on 6 April 2017 in K.L. International School. Tiny Tots were greeted with love and enthusiasm on joining their school. Parents along with their children stayed there in the school from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. They went into the classes with their children and got the opportunity to see their children enjoying, various activities as colouring, dancing etc. On this occasion Principal, Mr. S. Shekhar shared the working process of the school with parents. Ms. Geetu, Co-ordinator of KG Wing welcomed the parents and talked to little ones to make them comfortable in the school. New Session House Meeting for classes VI to VIII
House Meeting for classes VI to VIII was held on 5 April, 2017 in which all the events planned for the session 2017-18 were discussed and selection criteria for the Apex Body was apprised to the students. It was an enlightening session wherein many queries related to selection criteria were deciphered.
Nursery Orientation Programme
On April 1, 2017, K.L. International conducted its Orientation Programme for the session 2017-18 of nursery students, who will start their academic life at the institution from April 6. These tiny tots were accompanied by their parents who were briefed by the Principal Mr S. Shekhar about the rules and regulations that need to be followed. At the same time, he informed the parents of the prevailing practices of the KG wing of the school. The orientation session lasted for two hours following which the parents were escorted by Ms Geetu Gadhok, coordinator KG wing along with other teachers to the kindergarten wing. There the parents interacted with the teachers about the curriculum and other activities. During this session, parents learnt valuable points of parenting from the Principal and applauded his contribution to the Orientation Programme. New Session Assembly
The New Session 2017-18 began with morning assembly themed ‘New Beginning’ on 30 March 2017. Students of classes III-VIII gathered together to invoke the blessings of ‘Maa Saraswati’. Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar, congratulated the students on graduating to higher classes. In the welcome address, he motivated the students to start the new session on a positive note and be disciplined. He also apprised the students about ‘New Time-table Policy'.
