Internship and Thesis
General advisor: William Verschuur Planning •Benefit from the summer, use all the available time •Possible both Internal (university) and External (company) •Start preparations on time, especially for external position •Combining internship + thesis is possible
• Benefit: to save overhead time (smooth transition) • Benefit: many companies do not want someone for only seven weeks • Drawback: only one practical experience instead of two
•Topic has to be related to ACP •Activities have to be at master academic level •Approval required

Specifics of Internship 10 ECT = 7 weeks full time equivalent Emphasis on practical experience; learning new techniques Supervisors: CP staff member + local supervisor at the host institute Start An internship contract agreed upon by you and the supervisors - plan of activities and learning goals - specification of supervision Finish - A short evaluative report (4-6p) about your internship focused on the process,
your contributions in research etc. + - A video recording to illustrate the context of your internship, the kind of work you
did etc. (make sure you have permission to film)

Specifics of Thesis 20 ECT = 14 weeks fte Emphasis on autonomic completion of a study (under supervision) Supervisors: CP staff member + local supervisor at the host institute October: afternoon session dedicated to thesis opportunities at ACP Good own suggestions are also negotiable Start Proposal (intro + method) for the study under supervision of 1st reader Then ask approval from (1st and) 2nd reader Then apply for approval by the Ethical committee Then start testing Finish A full report in scientific journal format
