Barefoot Running Magazine is the first of its kind. A free, online, quarterly publication, founded in 2009,
it reaches a worldwide audience of runners, triathletes and fitness enthusiasts all hungry for information
about this popular, alternative approach.
Beginning as a humble newsletter directed towards barefoot runners, it expanded progressively to reach
the demands of a wider audience, eager to maximize their performance through innovative methods
and a fuller understanding of the human body and mind.
Averaging 54,000 impressions per issue, Barefoot Running Magazine promotes the benefits of barefoot
and minimalist running, dispelling the myths and highlighting the true nature of this approach that is here
to stay.
Barefoot Running Magazine was founded in 2009 by two movement therapists and barefoot runners,
Anna Toombs and David Robinson. Initially a small newsletter for Barefoot Running UK, including nutrition
advice, technical tips and product information and sent to subscribers as a PDF, the magazine is now
well in excess of one hundred pages, with a high percentage of content, available for download via
several different websites.
Barefoot Running Magazine continues to gain momentum, each issue attracting more readers. With this
increased popularity comes more interest from manufacturers who wish to see their products featured
within the magazine pages; it also draws recognition from well-known sports people, securing interviews
with the likes of ChiRunning founder, Danny Dreyer, British Olympic hero, Liz Yelling and barefoot running
icon, Zola Budd.
Barefoot Running Magazine has a select team of contributors writing columns on all manner of health
and exercise topics, as well as a number of experienced barefoot and minimalist runners who thoroughly
test and honestly review a whole range of products, including minimalist footwear, running clothing and
running accessories.
