The Bolo Klub for young illustr�tors supports �n emerging gener�tion of pic-ture-book �rtists in Switzerl�nd. Overthe course of � ye�r, four est�blished illustr�tors �nd �uthors from throughoutSwitzerl�nd mentor eight �spiring illustr�tors �nd help e�ch develop �n illustr�ted book. The Bolo Klub en�blesp�rticip�nts to exch�nge ide�s �ndinput, provides networking opportuni-ties with profession�ls from the pub lish -ing world, �nd sets de�dlines for com-pleting � book. The project ye�r willbegin with � kickoff workshop in M�rch2020 �nd culmin�te in � visit to theBologn� Children’s Book F�ir in April2021, where �ll project p�rticip�nts willpresent � finished storybo�rd �nd fiveorigin�l illustr�tions.

T�rget GroupThe Bolo Klub is �imed at Swiss illustr�-tors �nd illustr�tors living in Switzer-l�nd who �spire to work profession�lly in the �re� of visu�l storytelling throughchildren’s books. Applic�nts must h�vecompleted formal tr�ining on design fund�ment�ls in the visu�l �rts or illus -tr�tion. Gener�lly, p�rticip�nts h�ve not yet published � picture book (or justone).

P�rtnersA project of the Fokus Illustr�tion �sso ci�tion, the Bolo Klub is �lso sup-ported by numerous key pl�yers in theprofession�l illustr�ted book commu-nity—including publishers, institutions,�nd other �ssoci�tions.
