SLOPED ROOFSThe sloped and butterfly roofs define the building’s

exterior and establish interior spaces that match each

of the library collections: adult, children and teen.

SUSTAINABLECarefully planned daylighting schemes along

with LED lighting, occupancy sensors and low-

maintenance landscaping help fulfill the State of

Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines.

RAISED FLOORRunning the mechanicals under the raised

floor allowed the designers to keep the vaulted

ceilings unencumbered and dramatic.

STAGGERED JOINTSThe staggered joints on the metal panels

provide an intricacy that breaks up the

façade, especially on long runs.

VARIED FAÇADESlate, metal and cedar present different

textures and palette variations that make the

façade more nuanced.
