FORMULATION: Each Capsule contains : Carbocisteine . . . . . . . . . . . . 500mg MECHANISM OF ACTION: Mucolytic Carbocisteine is a mucosolvant and normalizer of trancheobronchial secretions by increasing its volume, reducing its viscosity, decreasing the aggregation tendencies of mucopolysaccharides and breaking the disulfide bonds of mucus peptide chains. INDICATION: For acute and chronic disorders of the respiratory tract associated with the secretion and formation of excessive and viscid mucus.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Active peptic ulcer. Concomitantly administered antitussive. PRECAUTION: Administer with caution to patients with history of peptic ulcer and be avoided in patients with active ulceration. ADVERSE EFFECTS: Nausea, headache, gastric discomfort, diarrhea, gastro-intestinal bleeding, and skin rash have occasionally occurred. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Adult: one capsule three times daily or as prescribed by the physician.
