Village Hall Refurbishment

A grant was awarded in August 2018 with work

carried out during autumn 2018 and the spring of

2019. The grant was for stage 2 and 3 of a major

refurbishment with stage 1 being funded by the

Village Hall Trustees.

Highlights of stage 2 included:

Upgrading to LED lighting, re-plastering walls

followed by decorating and the laying of the new

flooring to kitchen and bar area.

Highlights of stage 3 included:

The refurbishment of the cellar and bar area. The

digging out the old floor and relaying new concrete

into the cellar area, due to the old flooring being

inadequate and dangerous to the bar staff.

A more efficient and effective cooler was fitted into

the chilled area of the cellar to reduce noise for the

surrounding houses.

There were also a fire and security alarm upgrades.

The Trustees used locally sourced contractors to

help reduce the carbon footprint and support the

local economy.

Music Festival

A grant was awarded in July 2019 to support an

ambitious mini-festival, which took place over the

weekend of Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August

2019. The festival built on the long tradition of

community events in the Carltons. The weather

was kind and everyone had a really good time.
