A. GENERAL
THE WELL PUMP HAS 2 MODES OF OPERATION: AUTO AND HAND. THESE MODES ARE SELECTED BY A SELECTOR SWITCH ON THEPUMP STARTER. THE PUMP STARTER IS A VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE WHICH VARIES PUMP SPEED TO MAINTAIN A PRESSURE SETPOINT.
THE STARTUP SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
* PRESSURE TRANSMITTER SEES LOW PRESSURE OPERATOR SETPOINT
* PRE LUBE SOLENOID ENERGIZATION (IF USED) 10 SECONDS
* WELL PUMP VFD STARTS.
* THE PUMP RAMPS UP TO PUMP TO PRESSURE SET POINT. PUMP SPEED IS MODULATED THROUGH A PI CONTROLLER TOMAINTAIN PRESSURE.
THE SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
* PUMP WILL RUN UNTIL AN ADJUSTABLE LOW FLOW OR HIGH FLOW RATE IS RUN AT FOR AN ADJUSTABLE TIME PERIOD OR IFTHE PRESSURE SWITCH SEES HIGH PRESSURE OR IF LOW WELL LEVEL CUTOFF IS REACHED.
* AN ADJUSTABLE BACKSPIN TIMER STARTS TIMING ON PUMP SHUTDOWN PREVENTING PUMP RESTART UNTIL THE WATERCOLUMN HAS SETTLED.
B. MODES OF OPERATION
1. AUTO MODE: THE AUTO MODE IS CONTROL USING THE LOW‐PRESSURE SWITCH TO START THE PUMP AND MODULATE SPEEDTO CONTROL PRESSURE.
2. HAND MODE: THE HAND MODE IS A MAINTENANCE TEST MODE TO RUN THE PUMP LOCALLY.
C. CHLORINATION INJECTION
1. AUTO RESIDUAL MODE: AUTO INJECTS CHEMICAL WHENEVER THE WELL PUMP MOTOR IS RUNNING. THE RATE IS CONTROLLEDFROM A COMPOUND LOOP OF CHEMICAL RESIDUAL AND FLOW.
2. AUTO FLOW MODE: AUTO INJECTS CHEMICAL WHENEVER THE WELL PUMP MOTOR IS RUNNING. THE RATE IS RATIOED TOMEASURED WELL FLOW.
3. AUTO FIXED MODE: AUTO INJECTS CHEMICAL WHENEVER THE WELL PUMP MOTOR IS RUNNING. THE RATE IS MANUALLY SET.
4. JOG MODE: JOG OPERATION IS A MAINTENANCE TEST MODE THAT RUNS THE CHEMICAL PUMP WHEN THE BUTTON IS PRESSED.
1. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A INTEGRATED MCC/PLC ENCLOSURE THAT WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH A THERMOSTAT, FAN, GRILL, FILTER,BACK PANEL, SWING PANEL AND ALL COMPONENTS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE PLC/RADIO SYSTEM. PRE‐WIRE AND PROVIDE ACOMPLETE FUNCTIONAL CUSTOMER WITNESSED FACTORY TEST OF ALL CONTROLS.
2. SUPPLY, INSTALL AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY COMPACT LOGIX L32E PLC WITH I/O CARDS AND MEMORY MODULE. THEPROCESSOR WILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO COMMUNICATION PORTS TO ALLOW CONNECTION OF THE RADIO ANDPANELVIEW.
3. SUPPLY, INSTALL, AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY PANELVIEW+ 1000 OPERATOR INTERFACE PANEL (10" COLOR SCREEN) FORLOCAL READOUT AND OPERATION.
4. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A 24VDC AND A 15 VDC POWER SUPPLY FOR THE ANALOG AND RADIO CIRCUITS.
5. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A POWERLOGIC MONITOR CAPABLE OF READING CURRENT, VOLTAGE, KW, AND PHASE LOSS.
6. SUPPLY AND INSTALL AN UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS) APC MODEL BP300 FOR POWER CONDITIONING ANDTEMPORARY POWER BACKUP.
7. ALL CHANGES WILL BE DOCUMENTED AND ALL DOCUMENTS TURNED OVER TO THE DISTRICT. ALL SOURCE CODE AND PLCPROGRAMMING SOFTWARE TO BE TURNED OVER TO THE DISTRICT.

A. GENERAL
THE WELL PUMP HAS 2 MODES OF OPERATION: AUTO AND HAND. THESE MODES ARE SELECTED BY A SELECTOR SWITCH ON THEPUMP STARTER. THE PUMP STARTER IS A VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE WHICH VARIES PUMP SPEED TO MAINTAIN A PRESSURE SETPOINT.
THE STARTUP SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
* PRESSURE TRANSMITTER SEES LOW PRESSURE OPERATOR SETPOINT
* PRE LUBE SOLENOID ENERGIZATION (IF USED) 10 SECONDS
* WELL PUMP VFD STARTS.
* THE PUMP RAMPS UP TO PUMP TO PRESSURE SET POINT. PUMP SPEED IS MODULATED THROUGH A PI CONTROLLER TOMAINTAIN PRESSURE.
THE SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
* PUMP WILL RUN UNTIL AN ADJUSTABLE LOW FLOW OR HIGH FLOW RATE IS RUN AT FOR AN ADJUSTABLE TIME PERIOD OR IFTHE PRESSURE SWITCH SEES HIGH PRESSURE OR IF LOW WELL LEVEL CUTOFF IS REACHED.
* AN ADJUSTABLE BACKSPIN TIMER STARTS TIMING ON PUMP SHUTDOWN PREVENTING PUMP RESTART UNTIL THE WATERCOLUMN HAS SETTLED.
B. MODES OF OPERATION
1. AUTO MODE: THE AUTO MODE IS CONTROL USING THE LOW‐PRESSURE SWITCH TO START THE PUMP AND MODULATE SPEEDTO CONTROL PRESSURE.
2. HAND MODE: THE HAND MODE IS A MAINTENANCE TEST MODE TO RUN THE PUMP LOCALLY.
C. CHLORINATION INJECTION
1. AUTO RESIDUAL MODE: AUTO INJECTS CHEMICAL WHENEVER THE WELL PUMP MOTOR IS RUNNING. THE RATE IS CONTROLLEDFROM A COMPOUND LOOP OF CHEMICAL RESIDUAL AND FLOW.
2. AUTO FLOW MODE: AUTO INJECTS CHEMICAL WHENEVER THE WELL PUMP MOTOR IS RUNNING. THE RATE IS RATIOED TOMEASURED WELL FLOW.
3. AUTO FIXED MODE: AUTO INJECTS CHEMICAL WHENEVER THE WELL PUMP MOTOR IS RUNNING. THE RATE IS MANUALLY SET.
4. JOG MODE: JOG OPERATION IS A MAINTENANCE TEST MODE THAT RUNS THE CHEMICAL PUMP WHEN THE BUTTON IS PRESSED.
1. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A INTEGRATED MCC/PLC ENCLOSURE THAT WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH A THERMOSTAT, FAN, GRILL, FILTER,BACK PANEL, SWING PANEL AND ALL COMPONENTS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE PLC/RADIO SYSTEM. PRE‐WIRE AND PROVIDE ACOMPLETE FUNCTIONAL CUSTOMER WITNESSED FACTORY TEST OF ALL CONTROLS.
2. SUPPLY, INSTALL AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY COMPACT LOGIX L32E PLC WITH I/O CARDS AND MEMORY MODULE. THEPROCESSOR WILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO COMMUNICATION PORTS TO ALLOW CONNECTION OF THE RADIO ANDPANELVIEW.
3. SUPPLY, INSTALL, AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY PANELVIEW+ 1000 (10" COLOR SCREEN) OPERATOR INTERFACE PANEL FORLOCAL READOUT AND OPERATION.
4. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A 24VDC AND A 15 VDC POWER SUPPLY FOR THE ANALOG AND RADIO CIRCUITS.
5. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A POWERLOGIC MONITOR CAPABLE OF READING CURRENT, VOLTAGE, KW, AND PHASE LOSS.
6. SUPPLY AND INSTALL AN UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS) APC MODEL BP300 FOR POWER CONDITIONING ANDTEMPORARY POWER BACKUP.
7. ALL CHANGES WILL BE DOCUMENTED AND ALL DOCUMENTS TURNED OVER TO THE DISTRICT. ALL SOURCE CODE AND PLCPROGRAMMING SOFTWARE TO BE TURNED OVER TO THE DISTRICT.

A. GENERAL
THE WELL PUMP HAS 2 MODES OF OPERATION: AUTO AND HAND. THESE MODES ARE SELECTED BY A SELECTOR SWITCH ON THEPUMP STARTER. THE PUMP STARTER IS A VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE WHICH VARIES PUMP SPEED TO MAINTAIN A PRESSURE SETPOINT.
THE STARTUP SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
* PRESSURE TRANSMITTER SEES LOW PRESSURE OPERATOR SETPOINT
* PRE LUBE SOLENOID ENERGIZATION (IF USED) 10 SECONDS
* WELL PUMP VFD STARTS.
* THE PUMP RAMPS UP TO PUMP TO PRESSURE SET POINT. PUMP SPEED IS MODULATED THROUGH A PI CONTROLLER TOMAINTAIN PRESSURE.
THE SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
* PUMP WILL RUN UNTIL AN ADJUSTABLE LOW FLOW OR HIGH FLOW RATE IS RUN AT FOR AN ADJUSTABLE TIME PERIOD OR IFTHE PRESSURE SWITCH SEES HIGH PRESSURE OR IF LOW WELL LEVEL CUTOFF IS REACHED.
* AN ADJUSTABLE BACKSPIN TIMER STARTS TIMING ON PUMP SHUTDOWN PREVENTING PUMP RESTART UNTIL THE WATERCOLUMN HAS SETTLED.
B. MODES OF OPERATION
1. AUTO MODE: THE AUTO MODE IS CONTROL USING THE LOW‐PRESSURE SWITCH TO START THE PUMP AND MODULATE SPEEDTO CONTROL PRESSURE.
2. HAND MODE: THE HAND MODE IS A MAINTENANCE TEST MODE TO RUN THE PUMP LOCALLY.

3. SUPPLY, INSTALL, AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY PANELVIEW+ 1000 (10" COLOR SCREEN) OPERATOR INTERFACE PANEL FORLOCAL READOUT AND OPERATION.
4. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A 24VDC AND A 15 VDC POWER SUPPLY FOR THE ANALOG AND RADIO CIRCUITS.
5. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A POWERLOGIC MONITOR CAPABLE OF READING CURRENT, VOLTAGE, KW, AND PHASE LOSS.
6. SUPPLY AND INSTALL AN UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS) APC MODEL BP300 FOR POWER CONDITIONING ANDTEMPORARY POWER BACKUP.

1. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A INTEGRATED MCC/PLC ENCLOSURE THAT WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH A THERMOSTAT, FAN, GRILL, FILTER,BACK PANEL, SWING PANEL AND ALL COMPONENTS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE PLC/RADIO SYSTEM. PRE‐WIRE AND PROVIDE ACOMPLETE FUNCTIONAL CUSTOMER WITNESSED FACTORY TEST OF ALL CONTROLS.
2. SUPPLY, INSTALL AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY COMPACT LOGIX L32E PLC WITH I/O CARDS AND MEMORY MODULE. THEPROCESSOR WILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO COMMUNICATION PORTS TO ALLOW CONNECTION OF THE RADIO ANDPANELVIEW.
3. SUPPLY, INSTALL, AND PROGRAM AN ALLEN BRADLEY PANELVIEW+ 1000 (10" COLOR SCREEN) OPERATOR INTERFACE PANEL FORLOCAL READOUT AND OPERATION.
4. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A 24VDC AND A 15 VDC POWER SUPPLY FOR THE ANALOG AND RADIO CIRCUITS.
5. SUPPLY AND INSTALL A POWERLOGIC MONITOR CAPABLE OF READING CURRENT, VOLTAGE, KW, AND PHASE LOSS.
6. SUPPLY AND INSTALL AN UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS) APC MODEL BP300 FOR POWER CONDITIONING ANDTEMPORARY POWER BACKUP.
7. ALL CHANGES WILL BE DOCUMENTED AND ALL DOCUMENTS TURNED OVER TO THE DISTRICT. ALL SOURCE CODE AND PLCPROGRAMMING SOFTWARE TO BE TURNED OVER TO THE DISTRICT.
TANK FILL VALVES MODULATE TO MAINTAIN AN OPERATOR ADJUSTABLE TANK LEVEL AND BLEND THE WELL WATER.
1. THE BOOSTER PUMPS WILL BE USED TO PROVIDE REQUIRED DISTRIBUTION PRESSURE AT VARYING FLOW RATES . THE PUMPSWILL HAVE A SELECTOR SWITCH FOR HAND OFF AND AUTOMATIC OPERATION.
2. IN AUTO THE BOOSTER PUMPS WILL OPERATE ON AN ALTERNATOR BASIS THAT IS OPERATOR MODIFIABLE FOR ANY VARIATIONOF QUANTITY AND SEQUENCE OF PUMPS. IF ANY PUMP IN THE SEQUENCE FAILS TO START THE NEXT PUMP IN THE SEQUENCEWILL START. A LOW SYSTEM PRESSURE (NOMINAL 80 PSI) SET POINT WILL BE ENTERED TO START THE FIRST PUMP AND A HIGHSYSTEM PRESSURE (NOMINAL 100 PSI) WILL BE USED TO STOP THE LEAD PUMP. A HIGH HIGH PRESSURE ALARM POINT(NOMINAL 110 PSI) IS ALSO ENTERED. IF IT IS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN PRESSURE (PRESSURE IS BELOW THE LOW PRESSURE STARTSET POINT AND THE SECOND LOW PRESSURE (NOMINAL 70 PSI)) THE SECOND PUMP WILL START AFTER A TIME DELAY. THISWOULD CONTINUE THROUGH ALL FOUR BOOSTERS. THE PUMPS WILL RUN UNTIL THE HIGH PRESSURE SETPOINT IS REACHED.THE BOOSTER PUMPS ARE INTERLOCKED TO LOW TANK LEVEL (LOW SUCTION). A SETTABLE LOW TANK LEVEL INTERLOCK WILLSTOP BOOSTER PUMPS (NOMINAL 6'). A HIGH AND LOW TANK LEVEL ALARM WILL BE PROGRAMMED. A HARD WIRED HIGHPRESSURE SWITCH INTERLOCK IS ON EACH PUMP DISCHARGE.
3. AN EXERCISER TIMER SHALL BE PROGRAMMED FOR THE BOOSTER PUMPS. THE OPERATOR WILL SET THE TIME FOR THE PUMPSTO RUN AND THE EXERCISE PRESSURE SET POINT TO RUN AT. IN GENERAL THIS PRESSURE SET POINT IS HIGHER THAN NORMALOPERATING DISTRIBUTION PRESSURE. THE PURPOSE IS TO ENSURE WATER IS REGULARLY CIRCULATED OUT OF THE TANK. ATIME OF DAY OPERATION TIMER WILL BE INCLUDED THAT CAN BE DISABLED IF DESIRED.
4. A TIME AND DATE STAMPED HISTORICAL LOG WILL BE KEPT FOR ALL FAULTS AVAILABLE AT THE LOCAL OPERATOR INTERFACE ASWELL AS THE SCADA TERMINAL. ELAPSED RUN TIME FOR EACH PUMP WILL BE RECORDED. PUMPING EFFICIENCY WILL BERECORDED AS CALCULATED GALLONS PER KWH.
1. THE HYDROTANK LEVEL WILL BE CONTROLLED WITH TWO LEVEL PROBES AND A FILL SOLENOID. A HIGH LEVEL PROBE WILLENERGIZE THE SOLENOID WHICH STAYS ENERGIZED UNTIL THE LOW LEVEL PROBE IS UNCOVERED.
2. THE AIR COMPRESSOR IS STAND ALONE AND RUN OFF AN INTEGRAL PRESSURE SWITCH.
