(1) MM 14 Gospel Campaign
The MM14 Campaign – “Count Down to the End” series ends on Sabbath February 22, 2014 at the
National Heroes Park with International Speaker and Family Life Educator Pastor Shian O’Connor.
Meanwhile, the “Footprints of Hope” gospel series has been extended for an additional week with Pastor
Glen O. Samuels at the open lot in South Haven near the Fire Station in Yallahs, St. Thomas. If you
haven’t already done so, please support the evangelistic initiative in St. Thomas.
(2) Next Elders Association Meeting is February 23, 2014
The Elders' Association will begin its 2014 Certification Program on Sunday February 23, 2014,
9:00am to 1:00pm at the EJC Board Room.
All serving Elders and Leaders are invited to attend and participate. Details of the Certification
program will be given at the meeting. Please see flyer below.

(3) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Comm. Services Department
1. Adventist Community Services general meeting and election of officers will be held on Sunday,
February 23, 2014 at 10 a.m in the EJC chapel.
2. All Zones 1-3 Sabbath School personnel are invited to attend the first Sabbath School meeting
for 2014 at the Half Way Tree SDA Church on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 10 a.m., followed
by the Senior Citizens’ Advisory ( for Zones 1-3) at 1 p.m.
3. March 22 – Sabbath School Community Relations Day
4. Zone 4 LEA, Sabbath School & Personal Ministries Convention – March 29 at the Morant Bay
SDA Church at 9 a.m.
5. The 2014-2015 Ambassador search has begun. We are encouraging all churches to have the
juniors, teens and youth, (ages 13-22 years) participate in this programme. Application &
prerequisite forms are available online and at the EJC office. Registration closes March 28, 2014.
6. We are reminding all Sabbath School Superintendents to ensure the implementation of the Parent
Care Group (PCG) & Operation Reclamation and to register the relevant names to the MM14
Initiative.
7. Birthday greetings to our seniors, born in the month of February; wishing you good health and a
blessed and peaceful 2014.
(4) Notices from the Health Ministries Department
1. No organization can operate effectively without an operational budget. We are asking our
Pastors to turn in their church budget by the end of March 2014.
2. Kindly take note of the following Stewardship dates:
a. Stewardship Week – April 19-26, 2014
b. Stewardship Convention – May 3, 2014
c. Stewardship Training for Pastors – May 5, 2014 (IAD,JAMU)
3. One of the tools to be given to the Pastors and Stewardship Directors in the churches is a
series of Stewardship lessons for members called “A Guide to Counsels on Stewardship.”
This includes ten lessons which can be conducted over a two months period. Please turn in
an order for the number of lessons you need for your church. The cost for each book is $150.
00. We still have some paper back Councils on Stewardship for $100.00.
4. The Ministerial Department in collaboration with the Health Ministries Department of East
Jamaica will conduct a Medical Missionary Training for Pastors – An Introduction to Health
Evangelism. The Programme will be conducted every Thursday in May – Dates: May 1st ,

and June 5th. .
The venue will be East Jamaica Conference Boardroom
beginning at 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Please register now: - Hydrotherapy and Nutrition,
Vegetarian Cooling, Anatomy and Physiology, Herbal Remedies, God’s Healing Programme,
Health Evangelism, Health Reform, Basic First Aid. These are some of the topics to be
presented.

1. Child Preachers’ Graduation rehearsal will be held on February 22, 2014, @ 3:30 p.m. in the
EJC Boardroom. Graduation will be held at 3:30 p.m. on March 8, 2014 in the EJC Boardroom.
2. Church Selection of Bible Spell-a-thon participants - February 22, 2014.
3. The Children’s Ministries department will be having its fund raising fish fry and lap-a-thon in
April and May respectively. Proceeds will be in aid of our Belize mission trip and Walkers’
Children’s Home. Contact your Children’s Ministries Directors for tickets.
4. We commend all the preachers who have been involved in the Metro Mission Crusade so far
especially at the Heroes Circle Children’s Tent. They are Shereece Hall (New Haven) Kethia
Hoofatt (Johnson Town) Lasandra Angus (Johnson Town) Joelle Thomas (Johnson Town) and
Rashedah Menzie (North Street).
5. EJC Children’s choir practice will begin in March. CM Directors, Kindly send us the names of
five (5) children from you church as well as the names and telephone numbers of the parent/
guardian by February 22, 2014.
6. The office is now accepting orders for VBS materials and certificates.

(6) Women’s Ministries Department
1. GEMS monthly rap session - Thanks to Sis. Yvette Castell of the New Haven SDA Church for
facilitating such a powerful growth changing session. Contact EJC GEMS President, Natalie
McKenzie, for the next session.
2. International Women’s Day of Prayer will be recognized on Sabbath March 1, 2014. Now
more than ever we need to unite with our sisters in prayer globally. The program for the day has
been circulated and is also on the Website. Remember, more PRAYER- more POWER.
3. Our Mother Daughter Affair will be held on Sunday April 27, 2014. Details to follow.

4. Coming soon! Rejuvenation and re-tooling. Everyone is invited- man, woman and child. Save for
this never to be forgotten, memorable re –fuelling occasion. Ladies celebrate with your mates as
you use this as a special IMAP treat. Get ready for the October 2014 retreat. Pay attention to
updates to come.
5. Leaders’ Certification Training (part 1) will be conducted from March 27-29, 2014.

(7) Youth Ministries Department
1. EXTENSION: Youth Congress 2014-Guatemala –The deadline for registration has
been extended to March 31, 2014. Registration cost $US 80.00.
2. EJC HONOURS’ COMMITTEE:
The Honours Day scheduled for Sunday February 23, 2014 has been cancelled as quite a
number of clubs have not commenced for 2014 as well as the vigorous MM14 activities
currently taking place. Instead clubs are asked to teach the recommended honours with
the clubs. If needed, assistance will be provided by the Honours Committee. Also the
revised honours policy and procedure document is now available on our website. (click
here for the document)
The deadline to make submission for assistance for your club is March 30, 2014.
3. GLOBAL YOUTH DAY 2014 (GYD 2014): Please visit our website www.ejcsda.com
for flyer, important information and commitment sheet surrounding the event. Ensure
that your blood donors are secured well ahead of the day. Start planning for this grand
event…it will be bigger, and better than 2013! (Please give the orders for your T-Shirts to
your Area Coordinators). The subsidized cost is $500.00. Please note that the T-Shirts will
not be Polo shirts as was earlier stated…that was an error. Limited Polo T-Shirts will
go at a subsidized cost of $800.00.
4. BASIC STAFF TRAINING PROGRAMME: This course is a prerequisite to the Master
Guide, Senior Youth Leader and Drill Instructor Programmes. The Basic Staff
Training Course begins on March 23, 2014 and is conducted over a two week period.
All other training programmes will start on April 13, 2014. Please be guided
accordingly.
5. PATHFINDER JAMBOREE 2014 (APRIL 17-21): All Pathfinder Clubs get ready to
spend your Easter Weekend with hundreds of youth from Jamaica Union @ Pathfinder
Jamboree 2014. COST: Only $ 3,500.00 (includes a T-Shirt). Tents for Rent: Limited
tents are available at a reduced price…send your request NOW!!! The Venue for the
Jamboree is Camp Verley, St. Catherine. Stay Posted for more details. Persons who are
interested in being a part of the drill and march display for the grand opening service
please meet at Kencot on March 2, 2014 at 10:00am SHARP for practice.

6. BIBLE BOOM 2014: Promises to be more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be
studied are Hosea-Micah. Every AYS must be on board as we want our youth to become
men and women of the WORD!!! PLEASE NOTE: The I.A.D Bible Boom Finals will be
held in Guatemala during the Youth Congress instead of December as in previous times.
7. Please note that while the books for Bible Boom are the Minor Prophets, for the Bible Boom
at Jamboree, the first three books - Hosea, Joel and Amos will be used. For the Juniors, it will
be 2 Samuel and St. Mark.

YOUTH & CHILDREN’S MISSION TRIP TO BELIZE- July 24 – August 18, 2014.
Interested youth please contact the Children or Youth Ministries Department at the East
Jamaica Conference. Hurry, limited spaces available. Additional documents pertaining to the

9. JAMU E-News: The Jamaica Union is now inviting youth to submit news items,
testimonials, clean Christian jokes, stories, significant happenings in your area and other
articles to the EJC Youth Department for inclusion in its upcoming E-Paper. Submission
should be sent to [email protected].

(8) Notices from the Education Department
1. The East Jamaica Conference will be hosting an Education Symposium, on Sunday, March 9,
2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Andrews Memorial SDA Church. A special invitation is
being extended as we pool our ideas and plans to advance Christian Education.
2. Education Week is to be held May 5-10 and Education Day on May 10, 2014

Availability of DVD's For MM14 Campaigns
Please be advised that all the sermons from the "Count Down to the End" Series will be available for sale at
the EJC Resource Centre after the campaign comes to an end. Persons may therefore visit the East Jamaica
Conference at 74 Constant Spring Road to get their supply.
Please note that the unit cost for "Count Down to the End" DVD's is $300.00. If you purchase all the
messages from one week (6 DVD's), the unit price will be $250.00 while if you purchase the entire five
weeks messages (30 sermons), the unit price will be $200 or J$6,000 for the series.
Based on the huge positive response from members for these messages, we are suggesting that each church
place an order for the complete set which may be used by the local church for the benefit of running cell
meetings or road side evangelistic campaigns.
Churches that are interested in this package may forward their request through the Pastor who will relate to
the Communication Department for payment and collection of the DVD's. Churches may also make this
request to us through their First Elder or Communication Leader who may send in their request via e-mail.
