LastWednesday,theDi-etrichBoystrouncedRichfieldtowintheNorthsideBasketballChampionshipwithascoreof80to48. AfterwinningtheSCICDistrictChampionship,theWendellboysbeatMarsing

(47-31)toearnaspotinthisyear’s State tournamentwhichbeginsthisThursday,March3rd. The 1AD2 tournamentwill be held at CaldwellHighSchool.Dietrichwillface off against SummitAcademyat8:00p.m.thisThursday.The1AD2cham-pionshipgamewillbeheldat9:30a.m.onSaturdayintheFordIdahoCenter. The2Atournamentwillbe held at Capital HighSchool. Wendell’s first

try’experimentallife-sav-ingtreatments. IntroducedbyRepresen-tativeMelissaWintrow,this‘RighttoTry’billisaneffortthatwillpotentiallyhelppeo-pleextendtheirlives.Thisbillalsoreaffirmedthatdecisionslikethisarebestmadebyapatientandtheirdoctor.“People should have theright to try to save theirownlives,”saidRep.Me-lissa Wintrow. “It’s a keybeliefofmineandofmostIdahoansthatthegovern-mentshouldnothaveasayin our personal medicaldecisions,” ThebillisnowheadingtotheIdahoSenate.

Inthispresentation,learnaboutthefascinatinghis-toryofthecollegeincludingitspatrioticroleinthecom-munityduringWorldWarI,itstribulationsduringtheSpanishFluPandemic,andperhapsmostimportantly,itsroleinshapingtheCityofGoodingandsurroundingcommunities. Parents&PatronsofCamasSchoolDistrict121: TheprocessofbudgetingforIdahoschoolshasbeenestablishedbylawspassedbytheIdahoLegislature.How-ever,currentlyIdaho’sfundingperstudent,theprimarysourceofeducationalfunding,is10.9percentbelowthe2008level.Asaresult,mostIdahodistrict’shavebeenforcedtopasssupplementallevies.Infact,thesupplemen-tallevyamountthroughoutthestatehasincreasedfrom79.1millionto186.6milliondollars. Inthelastnineyears,CamasCountySchoolDistricthasincreasedoursupplementallevyamountbyexactlyZEROdollars.Thatisasharpcontrasttowhatotherschooldistrictsacrossthestatehavedone.Inspiteofimplementingprogramreductions,conservativebudgetingandfrugalspending,wehaveexperienceddeficitspendingfouryearsinarow.
