ADVISING AND ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:
As International Student Advisor:
- advised IUP community about visa processes and immigration issues for international
students and their dependents and ensured compliance with federal and state regulations
- acted as Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 and F-2 (and at times H-1B) visas
- advised international students (as well as their dependents) with regard to immigration
matters
- primary person to manage SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System),
liaise with SEVP (International Student and Exchange Visitor Program) and USCIS (U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services) pertaining to F-1 and F-2 visa holders
- organized and conducted informational workshop sessions on immigration regulations
and procedures
- contributed to the Office of International Education’s (OIE) website and Universitas, the
OIE’s newsletter
- promoted diversity and cultural awareness in Indiana and at IUP through coordination of
various programming (e.g., International Unity Day, International Education Week)

- coordination of Study Abroad activities for designated IUP Study Abroad programs and

- organization and presentation of Study Abroad information sessions
