An Educators Guide to Eweclid K-3Math Facts
Overview
Please watch our Demonstration Videos at Eweclid.comfor more insight into Eweclid applications, technologyand use at home or in the classroom.
Eweclid Math K-3 is an adaptive, personalized CommonCore Standards-based educational game designed for useat-school, at-home, and in home-schooling.
Eweclid was designed by mobile app designers, elementary school teachers, curriculum experts, and iPadprogram administrators to help kids learn, apply, andretain math facts.
Adaptive feedback (the Personal Tutor) providescustomized bonus lessons for each student to lock inretention and manage areas for improvement. Kids getdouble-points for completing these reviews.
Whats Included
Eweclid Math K-3 includes Four Courses, one for eachgrade: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade. Thenumber of Chapters per course varies between 24 and 40.Each chapter includes 10 puzzles on average.
The Eweclid Personal Tutor
Eweclid K-3 Math Facts V2.0 includes a free PersonalTutor Service for each student using the app. ThePersonal Tutor models each students individual masteryand retention of Math Facts and provides custom, personal bonus lessons for each student. These bonuslessons appear in the bottom left corner of the openingscreen upon login.
The application will change from the bright green motifto a dark grey motif when the Wolf appears. The Wolf
brings the bonus lessons. Students are awarded doublepoints for bonus lessons.
Students should use their Eweclid Personal Tutor accountfor all their Eweclid apps (Math, Spelling, etc.).
How to Use Preferences
Preferences apply to all students using the app. If manykids will use the same iPad, as in a classroom setting, we
recommend changing Chapter progression to OFF, andClassroom Mode to ON. Here are the details.
Chapter Progression. For Math Facts, Eweclid requires astudent to get 4 or 5 stars in a chapter to unlock the next. However, this requirement can be eliminated by turningChapter Progression OFF in the Preferences screen.

Touch and Hold the Preferences icon (the Cog, bottomright) to open the screen. The tap the ON/OFF slider forChapter Progression
Classroom Mode. The Eweclid Personal Tutor Service isfundamental to classroom mode use. Classroom Modeallows kids to login on any iPad with the Eweclid Appwithout setting up an account on that iPad.
In this way, many kids can share many iPads in theclassroom. Simple passwords (1-chracter if you wish) aresupported so make logins easy and quick. If you buyEweclid for your school, please contact us and we will
help you setup the logins, if you like.
About the Puzzles
There are eight different types of puzzles that are used toimplement the CCS. You can see these in the App underHelp->Puzzle Types.
Help is available for every puzzle by tapping the Ibutton (top left of the review screen). For all K and 1st
grade puzzles, instructions are read aloud. Feedback isprovided for incorrect puzzles so kids can learn fromtheir mistakes.
Where needed, the screen acts as scratch paper kidscan write with their finger to help solve more involvedpuzzles step-by-step.
Common Core Standard Implementation
Eweclid Math K-3 is ideal for locking in what kids learn in
school, improving performance in the classroom, or forhome schooling to Common Core Standards.
Eweclid K-3 Math Facts is based on 10/18/10 version of theU.S. Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.Puzzles teach and test Counting and Cardinality,Operations and Algebraic Thinking and Numbers andOperations in Base Ten what we call Math Facts; weplan to offer Geometry and Measurement and Data, and Fractions puzzles in future products.
Following this description you will find detailed chartsshowing how the CCS is implemented in Eweclid Coursesand Chapters. You can start with a Standard and find theCourse and Chapter(s) that implement it; or you can startwith a Eweclid Course and Chapter and find the Standardit relates to.
How to use Eweclid in the Classroom
and for Homework
The best way to use Eweclid in the classroom is insupport of spelling instruction. Here are some ideasabout how to use the application in this way.

1) Allow students time to play chapters related to thisweeks lesson plan. This will reinforce classroominstruction in a fun way for the students.
2) Allow students time to play bonus lessons. This iscritical for retaining skills from previous weeks. Each student should have a Eweclid Personal Tutoraccount (contact us if you need help). The EweclidPersonal Tutor will provide customized Mathlessons for each child based on their progress andretention.
3) For Math homework, make playing Eweclid athome an option for both this weeks lessons andespecially for the bonus lessons. Tutor accounts
make sure student learning data and game datatransfer automatically between home and school.Require students to repeat chapters until they get
four stars for the chapter.
Note that each time a chapter is played, the orderof the puzzles in the chapter changes, the order ofthe answers within each puzzle changes, and forsome puzzles, the incorrect answers (used asdistracters) change as well. These changes helpensure that the students dont simply memorizepuzzles instead they have to engage and thinkevery time.
