One reason is because it is taught in the Qur’an, which is the word of Allah. As the Qur’an contains everything that Allah wants us to know, this must mean that he wants us to know about life after death and therefore belief in it is important. Another reason is because how you behave in this life effects what happens to you in your life after death, because Allah judges each person based on their actions in this life. This is shown in the Qur’an, which says: “It is Allah who gives you life, then gives you death; then He will gather you together for the Day of Judgement of which there is no doubt.”
