GPATS 2013, one of the premier events sponsored by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 12th and 13th.

The objective of the 2013 Summit is to underscore the importance for every country to have a Policy Framework in place that ensures their governments, businesses and citizens can not only participate but maximize the economic, social and cultural benefits of the Digital Age.

The opening lecture of the Summit will be conducted by Alan Marcus, Director for IT World Economic Forum.

Implementation of Public Policies for the "Digital Agenda" will be mediated by the Minister of Information Society of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Ivo Ivanovski.

Howard Schmidt, ex-coordinator of cyber-security for Barack Obama and George Bush administration will talk about “ How to make the Internet a safe

environment in balance with the freedom of users”.

The panel devoted to the discussion of the expected developments for the IT industry to international agreements on free trade in commerce and services, will be led by John S. Wilson, chief economist of the World Bank.

In the session devoted to the topic on the measurement of the IT industry, are confirmed Bernd Friedrich, advisor to the Minister of Finance of Germany, and Torbjörn Fredriksson, head of analysis of the IT industry UNCTAD - United Nations Agency for International Development.

In closing ceremony, it is confirmed the presence of Prof. Peter A. Bruck, of Austria, project leader World Summit Youth Award, focused on identifying new projects and youth leaders in the use of IT to meet the Millennium Development Goals, United Nations.
